Sponsorship Assistant Job Vacancy in Uganda at Plan International

Job Title: Sponsorship Assistant

Responsibilities:
Type, proof read and compile all Sponsor Child Introductions (SCI) and Sponsored Child Updates (SCU) for each month in time
Use checklist to ensure that information on the SCIs and SCUs is accurate
Download quality photos from the field staff to a designated file for future use
Enter New Enrolment into the ES4 system and upload to child data photos and SCIs of all pooled children within specified time
Update Sponsorship Coordinator on all SC Communications that raise queries from time to time.
Support community training in Sponsorship communications
Proof read all Sponsored child communications to ensure that no NOIs arise from statements made in the communications
Participate in working with children and community members to produce quality and timely Area Overviews, Area Updates and Development Education Communication
Enter all Sponsor Child and Sponsor data or SC gifts in the system correctly, accurately within one week from the date of receipt.
Type cancellation/graduation memos in free format correctly, accurately and timely before submitting to the sponsorship Coordinator for final editing and quality control
Support enrolment of SCs in new locations.
Enter into child data SCI information with complete quality photos for new enrolments.
Requirement:
Qualifications /Skills/ Experience:

Advanced Diploma in Secretarial Studies.
Good computer skills especially in Micro-soft Word and Excel
Good typing skills of not less than 50 words per minute.
Knowledge and Experience in Database management may be an added advantage.
Must have at least 3 years working experience preferably with an NGO.
Must demonstrate ability to generate and utilize digital images
Has experience in Basic backup and recovery procedures for corporate systems.
Has experience working on a LAN environment.
Interest in addressing children, family and community development issues.
Proficiency in both oral and written communication skills in English.
Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware problems.
Open, friendly and pleasant personality.

Duties:

Qualifications:

International  Health  , Public  Health , Medicine  or other  relevant  degree.
Some reproductive  health  or safe  motherhood  courses  are  advantageous .
At least  five years  of progressively  responsible  professional  experience  in public  management  or  program  management ;  experience in maternal  and child  health  is preferred .
Work experience  should  include  at least  two  years   of planning  , developing , and  implementing  and managing  public  health  programs  in  resource  poor  settings .
Demonstrated  experience in coordination of  large –scale  projects  a must
S/he must  be able to  work  effectively  in a team  environment  and  coordinate  well  with  others.

Salary range : Uganda Shillings  58,213,135  to  83, 870, 107  p.a  inclusive   of allowances.

Job Title: Regional  Communication  Officer

Duties:

Support  review, field  tests  and  customizing  integrated  campaign  materials  to reflect  regional  contexts .
Support  the  process  of identifying , training and supervising  community  campaign  champions  and  MARPS,  linking  supply  and  demand  side  communication.
Document  and monitor  HC  activities  and  develop  success  stories  on a  regular  basis .
Develop  activity reports  and participate  in developing  quarterly and annual  basis

Qualification and Experiences, Skills:

A  minimum  of  bachelors  degree  in communication , social  sciences , public health  or related   field  with 3  years experience  in  health  communication , community  mobilization  or advocacy .
Experience working  with districts , implementing  partiners  and local  leaders .
Prior  experience  with  health  communication   and  community  mobilization.
Ability to work  independently  and manage a high  volume work flow
Strong written  and verbal communication  skills  in English  ( and at least  one regional  language )

Bio-security and Infrastructure Jobs in Uganda at U. S. Mission, Uganda

Job Title: Public Health Specialist Bio-security and Infrastructure

Qualifications

Education:
Completion  of a  bachelor’s  degree in Medical  Laboratory  Technology is  required  Additional six  months hands-on  post-graduation training in a clinical  setting  is required.
Registration with the Ministry of Health Allied Health Professional Council is required.

Work experience:
A minimum  of five  years working  in a clinical  laboratory   setting either  HIV/AIDS  health care or a national reference  laboratory  or research oriented facility  is required  of  which  three years  were  in implementing  or overseeing  laboratory   quality systems

Knowledge:
Comprehensive  knowledge and  experience  in advanced  laboratory  medicine  is required  including  a  comprehensive  knowledge of procedures  for laboratory  diagnostics laboratory  informatics  and  associated technologies .
Through  knowledge  of the  current  HIV/AIDS  national  and global  situation  is  required .
Good  working knowledge  of the principles  of laboratory   management including  strategic planning  , personal management  and forecasting  and management   of procurement  supplies  and equipment  is required .

Roles:

After  an initial  application  screening  applicants  will be  invited  to a  testing   process  that may  include  a  written  examination  and oral  interviews.
The  selected  candidate must pass pre-employment  medical  and  security  investigations  before  beginning  work  . The  initial  appointment  period  is one  year  , subject  to renewal .
Normally candidates for employment are hired at the first step of the designated per grade.  In some  instances  , candidates  may be  hired  at a  higher step  when  exceptional  qualifications  or  previous  governmental  service  and pay  level  so  warrant .

Division & Project Overview

The URC Quality & Performance Institute (QPI) is a division of URC which serves as an organizing force to bring together best practices, staff experience, partnerships, and documentation on improving health care at URC. The USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems ( ASSIST) Project is URC's flagship project in quality improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

URC is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to fill the position of Senior Quality Improvement (QI) Advisor – Institutionalization at the Kampala Uganda office on a one year renewable contract to provide technical and other support at policy level, leadingto institutionalization ofquality improvement in the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development (MoGLSD).

Enable and steer the national level drive to:

Build Quality Improvement (QI) competencies of senior MoH and MoGLSD officials
Ensure QI approach is embedded into all activities across all departments in the MoH and Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in the MoGLSD.
Integrate QI into policies, guidelines and other government guiding documents in the MoH and MoGLSD
Advocate for Quality Improvement (QI) in meetings and other activities at the highest levels in the MoH and MoGLSD
Prioritize QI activities in the MoH and MoGLSD, including allocation of time and finances to QI activities

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Experience & Qualifications

Advanced degree in public health and / or social sciences
Five or more years' experience in a senior government position
Experience in Quality Improvement approaches.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

Proficient in relevant computer applications and databases.
Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
