Minimum Qualifications and Working Experience:
• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honor’s Bachelor’s Degree in Laws plus a Masters Degree in a related field from a recognized University/Institution,
• He/She should posses a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
• Applicants should have a Minimum of ten (10) years relevant working experience three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Assistant Commissioner in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties:
• Deputizing the Director Legal
• Providing legal services for the smooth operation of the Directorate
• Acting as Legal Counsel to the Directorate on matters pertaining to the promotion for ethics and integrity and fight against corruption.
• Following up on investigative reports on cases of corruption as may be deemed appropriate.
• Handling all legal issues pertaining to Ethics and Integrity
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Title: Legal Aid Program Coordinator

SCOPE OF WORK:
The Program Coordinator has primary responsibility for the management and the implementation of the programs for the overall country, including but not limited to the project on Mobilizing Lawyers for the rights of the Ugandans and the Unlawful Pretrial
Detention project.
Under the supervision of the head of Mission, the Program Coordinator will work to develop strong external relationships with stakeholders including local and district level authorities, institutions and other civil society organizations. The Program Coordinator will have responsibility for the development of the program within the country. This responsibility includes taking a lead role in identifying and developing new partnerships and collaborations, identifying funding opportunities and developing new project proposals that complement ASF’s national strategy. 4 years minimum of proven experience in policy and advocacy strategy development in the NGO sector and social movement with international NGOs or institutions will be critical.
Sustained experience in popular mobilization and Policy Advocacy work at a National and International level especially on issues related to HIV.
Relevant experience in policy analysis, lobbying creating policy briefs and policy summations and media work.
Proven experience in networking and partnership formation and management.
Good Knowledge of in country HIV National Treatment and policy guidelines.
Ability to work in a public sector environment to accomplish goals and favorably influence decision making processes in a diplomatic and collaborative manner
Familiarity with current HIV&AIDS practices and issues in the" policy environment at national and international levels.
Research and Organizational Development experience
Minimum of 2 years of international work experience preferred
Ability to travel within Uganda and internationally regularly
