Job Title: Information Systems Auditor

Reports to: Audit Manager.




Responsibilities and duties:

•    Prepare IT related tests for auditable area.
•    Handling all IT related issues that come up with in the course of bank operation not specific to the audit plan.
•    Liaise with head it and ensure that all systems updates, modification are properly authorized tested and documented.
•    Providing the job training to internal auditors in CAATs.
•    Provide and maintain current and permanent audit files.
•    Draft updates to audit programmers and audit manual.
•    Provide audit inputs with respect to the adequacy of internal controls for new systems being developed in house or purchased from a software vendor.
•    Prepare timely, clear and well written reports to manager Audit for onward submission to head of audit.
•    Properly maintain effective working relations with management and units audited.
•    Conduct preliminary audit surveys.
•    Any other duties as assigned by the head of department and other audit managers.


Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related filed.
•    Possession of CISA/C ISM, CISCO or any other information systems certification will be an advantage.
•    2-3 years working experience with a preferably financial institution.
•    Knowledge of ACL is a must.
•    Excellent analytical skills and team player.

Job Title: Information technology (IT) officer

Duty Location: Gulu with frequent travel to the field officers

Reports to: Finance & Administration Manager



Duties & responsibilities


1.    Maintains and keeps inventory of IT assets. Issues IT facilities and keeps truck of movement of IT equipments.
2.    Maintains and keeps storage of IT equipments in an organized IT room
3.    Implements necessary measures to keep a high level of IT security in the office. And ensures that all precautions are taken concerning sensitive IT information.
4.    Provides and organizes training, coaching and technical assistance to users on IT matters, especially on the Ms Office and emails.
5.    Develops functional concepts for database and reporting systems.
6.    Maintains and analyses overview of the IT tasks and ensures that timely support is provided for general and specialized office equipments.
7.    Responsible for coordinating information back up for all computer users.
8.    Recommends software and hardware changes.
9.    Acts as a link with service providers and liaises closely with IT person(s) in other and be able to travel as and when required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

•    Candidates must have a university degree in information Technology, Computer Science, Higher diploma in Information system management or relevant filed from a recognized institution.
•    Possession of additional professional qualifications e.g. Cisco is an added advantage.
•    At least 3 years’ professional working experiences in programming, handling software and hardware installation and maintenance's work.
•    Good knowledge of computer/telephone cabling and repair.
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Results orientated and willing to work long hours.
•    Ability to show flexibility, initiative, work independently and meet deadlines.

Job Vacancies at National Forestry Authority (NFA)

Job Role

To provide leadership and maximize the authority’s contribution towards its desired growth and profitability targets in line with policies set by the board.


Responsibilities and duties

1.    Monitor the overall authority’s performance and compliance to financial accounting system in line with government and the authority’s accounting procedures.
2.    Develop advocacy strategies for networking with private sector, NGOs forest adjacent communities, local councils and other stakeholders in the management of forest resources.
3.    Initiate the development and review of policies for the organization’s physical, human and financial resources.
4.    Initiate and pursue the development of the authority’s strategic planning and identify opportunities for its commercial strengthening in line with the authority vision.
5.    Implement the performance contract agreement between NFA and the government and develop entrepreneur strategies for self financing.
6.    Develop strategies for enforcing NFA compliance with the relevant legislation, forestry and environmental laws, government’s poverty eradication plans and other relevant polices.


Qualifications

•    Honours degree in forestry, Economics, Finance, Law, Management, Environment or other relevant field.
•    Postgraduate training in relevant field is an added advantage.
•    At least 10 years of working experience at a senior managerial level in large private or public sector organizations.
•    Good interpersonal, team building and organizational skills.
•    Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
•    High level of integrity.
•    Entrepreneurial competence and output oriented work habits.


Tenure of appointment:

The appointment shall be for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of duties and may be renewed once subject to satisfactory performance.
