Job Title : ESTATES OFFICER


About this Job:
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is one of the three successor companies of the Uganda Electricity Board (UEB). Their mandate is ownership of the electricity distribution assets in Uganda. UEDCL is seeking to hire qualified persons to fill the following positions:

Job Position: ESTATES OFFICER

Report to: Principal Human Resource and Administrative Officer

Supervises: Maintenance

Duty Station: Head Office

Purpose of the Job: To Manage and Maintain UEDCL property as per company standards and regulations.

Key Result Areas:

Maintaining all equipment and ensuring that they are in good working condition.
Follow up payment of rent and utilities to ensure timely payments.
Maintaining a safe, Healthy and clean environment at all times.
Supervising of repairs on the building so as to ensure that the required materials are used in conformity with the required standard.
Checking for leakages in the plumbing system and making arrangements for the plumbers to- repair any damages.
Checking the electricity network of the premises and making arrangements with the electrician to come and repair any faults.
Allocation of Parking slots for the tenants.
Overseeing and maintaining security on the building at all times.
Attend to all customer queries and complaints related to the building.
Requirement:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A Bachelors’ degree Business Administration or B.Com
A minimum of 3 years working experience in a related field in a recognized organization
Computer Knowledge in Microsoft office
Proven Track record of Integrity & Work ethics, committed team player who is result oriented

Job Title : Procurement Officer

Reports to: Principal Procurement Officer

Job Purpose: The incumbent will be responsible for perform­ing all procurement activities for the project.

Duties:

Develop a comprehensive procurement plan in coordination with the various component heads to support the entire Project;
Management of the procurement process for the Project and ensure it is in line with the PPDA Act and guidelines;
Ensure timely procurement and sourcing of required goods and services and follow up with third party procurement agents;
Prepare and submit timely reports on the progress of procurements to the procurement committee and to third party agents;
Make recommendations to improve on the procurement process.
Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirement:
Qualifications and Work Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in either Procurement or Logistics Management, Business Administration (Procurement option) Bachelors of Commerce (Procurement option) or its equivalent is a must;
Professional qualification in Procurement specifically from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies shall be an added advantage.
At least 3 years procurement experience in a busy and challenging environment;
Ability to make sound and independent judgments within established policies and procedures;
Good understanding of the PPDA and Donor Procurement guidelines;
High level of integrity and negation skills and ability to work effectively with different project departments and project staff members.

Job Title : Systems Technician

About this Job:
POST/TITLE: Systems Technician.

No of Vacancies:   One (1).

Duty Station: Kampala.

Age:  25 and above.

Reports to: Principal Systems Analyst.

Job Purpose: The Incumbent will be responsible for general maintenance of defined ICT equipment and for the resolution of identified technical problems, as well as undertaking general tasks which will promote the use of ICT in the department of M&E.

Duties

Software be able to;

Install and test new software, make software available to appropriate users, ensure the anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all stations
Hardware;

Check new computer equipment on arrival and install as appropriate
Maintain battery condition in notebook computers according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, and ensure staff are aware of the importance of battery maintenance
Maintain computer peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, whiteboards, projectors; ensure that these are prepared and ready to be used
Assist the Systems Analysts in the deployment of computer hardware.
Keep a log of all technical faults.
Liaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance contract
 Network Management;

Check the network back up logs where appropriate.
Set up, maintain and remove user network accounts where appropriate.
Carry out routine network maintenance tasks.
Be familiar with the network infrastructure (cable and patch panels, hubs, switches,) and keep a log of any damage to it
Follow supplier’s recommended procedures.
Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Requirement:
Qualification and Work Experience

Diploma in ICT from a recognised academic institution, with a minimum of 2 years practical experience.

Other abilities include:

Be able to work on his/her own initiative.
Demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies.
Have high quality inter-personal skills.
Keep abreast of new developments in software and hardware.
