Job Title: Trainee Technical Officer

Job Purpose:

To learn ropes of engineering and implementing them in relation to Umeme’s electricity distribution business

Key Responsibilities:

•     To perform and carry out any project undertaken by the senior

•     Assist his seniors in developing a new project.

•      Improvise on existing engineering techniques in force in order to make them more feasible and cost effective,

•     Cultivate and learn professional behaviour and mannerisms from

•      He may need to gather information relating to latest engineering techniques and pass them to the technical team for incorporation



Requirement:
•      Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering

•      Only candidates who qualified in the academic year 2010 & 201 I will be considered

Job Title: Media Relations Executive REF No UM/ENG/10/03/12

About this Job:
Reports to:          Corporate Communication Manager

Department:         Communications

Key Responsibilities

•      Liaise with Operations and Technical to generate timely news

Articles  and editorial pieces on Urneme and distribute them to the media on approval.

•      Continuously Develop & Maintain a countrywide updated multi­media database for Umeme’s benefit

.      Monitor and regularly updates the Umeme website and Social Media networks

.Organize media coverage for publicity of Umeme events and activities

•     Supervise media advertisements’ placement on behalf of Umeme

•      Generate internal press releases

•      Maintain UMEME’s database of media clips and pictures and prepares quarterly reports on proposed mitigation and action taken

Requirement:
•     University degree in Mass Communication. Public Relations or its equivalent

•      Previous experience in media environment will be an added advantage

Salary: - USD/month

Job Title: District Education Officer, REF: DSC/ED/1

About this Job:
Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer
Job purpose: To coordinate and provide technical and
professional guidance in the management of Education and
Sports policies, plans and Programmes in the District.
Duties & responsibilities:

•  Education laws, policies and regulations implemented;

• Approved education and development plans, strategies,

and council decisions Implemented; « Technical advice on education and sports provided;

•  Schools inspection coordinated;

• Teachers’ training/upgrading programmes organized and facilitated;

• Schools inspection and sports programmes coordinated;

•  Educational activities in the district coordinated;

• Educational curricuiar, examinations and sports events monitored and supervised;

•  Updated teachers’ personal data bank maintained

Requirement:
• An Honours Bachelor Degree in Education from a recognized University or Institution ,

• Either a Master Degree in Education Planning and Management or Human Resources Management or Public Administration and Management or other related Managerial fields from a recognized University or Institution.

• At least nine (9) years working experience, three of which must have been in management of an educational institution or gained from professional experience in a managerial capacity at the level of Principal Education Officer

• Age limit: 30 -50 years
