in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), during the  third phase of the recruitment exercise.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelors  Degree in Civil Engineering or
Construction management and any other related course from a recognized university/awarding
institution Plus a minimum of a postgraduate Diploma in any of the above fields.
He/She should be registered with Uganda engineers Registration Board (UERB)
Possession of a minimum of a certificate in project management and implementation will be an
added advantage.
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in Government or a
reputable electrical/mechanical operations organization/Agency three (3) of which should have
been  gained  at senior  officer level  or Supervisory  level  from  a reputable  organization
He/she should have the following Key competences: Ability to work as part of a team and to
develop subordinates; excellent interpersonal skills, particularly staff/management relations, oral
and written communication skills; ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment
with multiple and challenging tasks; high level of integrity,  and ability to work for extended
hours.
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Manager Road Construction & Maintenance for
performing the following duties:-
? Supervising the administration and performance of the Division Engineering team.
? Supervising the maintenance of the road network under the Division.
? Carrying out regular road and bridge inspections for inventory; annual road and bridge
condition assessment; and on-going road maintenance projects in the station.
? Developing proposals and budgets for works assignment to be undertaken by contractors
and make accountability on a quarterly basis.
? Preparing annual, quarterly and monthly work plans for maintenance programs for the
station.
? Supervising and guiding subordinate staff in the area of performance and conducting
division meetings for engineering staff.
? Liaising with political and civic leaders in the divisions to maintain road networks.
? Conducting sensitization seminars and workshops for Road Committees.
? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

? Organizing preliminary and final plans for traffic control devices including facilities for
pedestrians and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
? Providing input for the development and maintenance of traffic management policies and
procedures.
? Investigating and monitoring traffic flow and condition, and recommending strategies to
improve traffic flow and safety.

Conditioning systems, Equipment Earthing (NEC/IEEE standards) and Low Voltage power
distribution, network operation and maintenance.  Ability to work as part of a team, excellent

results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks; high level of integrity, and ability
to work extended hours Computer based skills (MS Office package)
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Electrical Engineer for performing the following duties:-
? Reporting to the Electrical Engineer on Electrical related issues in KCCA.
? Performing routine assignments, electrical installation works, testing and commissioning of
equipment, buildings, generator set, street lighting and traffic lights.
? Implementing work processes and procedures, standards and specifications database as a
way of adopting a Quality Management System.
? Executing electrical related works while ensuring timely deliverables, cost tolerances and
Quality of workmanship.
? Maintaining and updating the maintenance database by monitoring equipment failure to
minimize equipment downtime.
? Responsible for troubleshooting on all electrical installations for buildings, UPS and Standby
Generators and reinstating proper functionality.
? Ensuring efficient Energy Management on Street Lights and within Buildings by reporting
any anomalies that may arise.
? Ensuring safety of equipment and personnel by using acceptable engineering standards
practices while executing works.
