Finance and Administration Officer
Purpose of job: To develop and implement systems in both the Finance and Administration Departments and be responsible for the smooth operations of both on a daily basis.
Skills: Development and implementation of systems, experience working on donor funded projects, project planning and management, budgeting, computer applications, good writing skills
Key Responsibilities:
To maintain an appropriate and effective financial management system, this includes:
Preparing and monitoring budgets for each project including budget performance
Maintaining proper and up to date books of accounts
Preparing and producing regular financial/ accountability reports
Ensuring timely requisition and disbursement of funds for the day-to-day activities of the organization as per the established guidelines and procedures.
Prepare and submit necessary funding reports including all financial details.
To carry on the day-to-day administrative functions for the organization,
To maintain up to date personnel records and ensure adherence to the organization’s terms and conditions of service.
To handle staff welfare and disciplinary matters.
To maintain a proper and up-to-date record of the organizations’ assets and inventories.
Requirement:
Degree in Finance and Administration
Have good working experience with Talley
Previous experience in developing arid implementing systems in Finance and Admin departments
Excellent computer skills including knowledge of excel, word
Report writing skills in English
Excellent communication and team building skills
Experience
Finance and Admin experience in field or related area 3-5 years
Previous experience of working in an administrative and support role, including experience of setting up and managing administrative systems
Confident at managing volunteers and working with a wide range of people including staff, consultants and representatives of other organizations
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Purpose of job: To help smallholder coffee farmers implement Good Agronomic Practices, improve overall yields and organize themselves in a manner to be able to effectively supply coffee
Skills: Understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and participatory approaches, project planning and management, budgeting, computer applications, good writing skills
Key Responsibilities
Conduct baseline studies of smallholder farmer supply chains and ensure that annual targets for extension are met
Establish and manage farmer field schools to support effective extension work. This includes managing the overall training calendar
Maintain and report on all Monitoring and Evaluation activities
Report on crop health and overall area-by- area productivity as it relates to the overall coffee harvest annually
Procuring of coffee from the coffee Producer Organizations
Implement Internal Control Systems in the project area.
Oversee implementation of project budgets and contribute to fundraising activities of the foundation
Routinely visit and supervise all project areas under your jurisdiction.
Advise Field Facilitators/Farmer Trainers on: coffee pruning, weed control, mulching, fertilizer application, pest and disease control, etc
Help in the establishment of coffee nurseries and shade tree nurseries
Write progress reports for donors.
Requirement:
Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Economy or related field
Previous experience in developing and implementing Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks
Previous experience in agribusiness projects management required
Computer skills

Job Title: Front Office Assistant

Electricity Act Cap 145, 1999 to regulate the electricity sector in Uganda would like to recruit qualified, competent and motivated individuals for the following positions that have been created in the Authority
POSITION: Front Office Assistant.
REPORTS TO: Public Relations Officer.
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide the first point of contact for all ERA external stake holders while promoting a professional and stakeholder focused image of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Orderly and efficient receipt of stakeholders and incoming mail Directing stakeholders with complaints to respective Electricity Consumer Committees and relevant officers Receive and classify feedback from Electricity Consumer Committees and follows up with respective stakeholders. Acting as centralized receiver of in-coming and out-going telephone calls and routing them efficiently to relevant offices Maintain a fresh image of the front office through creative and innovative office arrangements
Maintains a log of and making periodic reports on the visitors received at ERA and their institutional representations Maintain a dynamic communication channel with ERA staff in the field and keep an updated log of staff and transport facilitators in the field
Be able to provide all stakeholders preliminary information on the sector with respect to licensing and opportunities before directing them to specific officers Be conversant with all stakeholder publications in ERA at anytime and explain the details therein to any inquiring stakeholder.
Requirement:
Excellent communication and Organizational skills.
Good Telephone etiquette.
Pleasant personality and demeanor
Fluent in English (working knowledge of some local languages will be an advantage)
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
A good Team player, Creative and Proactive
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Qualifications:
At least a Diploma in Secretarial Studies, Office Management, Organizational Behavior. Hospitality Management
Other relevant and advanced qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position in a reputable/comparable organization.
Age: At least 25 years but not more than 35 years.
