Job Title: Research Officer
Reports to: Research Specialist
Job role: To contribute to excellence of the research unit by conducting basic research, project coordination and information management.
Key Result Areas
Manage data entry within the Unit so as to ensure quality, efficiency, and affordability;
Provide day-to-day technical support to Supervisor on ongoing research projects ensuring work plans and timelines are met and that data quality is high;
Undertake basic and background research including participation in projects under the Unit;
Contribute to the preparation of research instruments, reports and publications;
Regularly provide specialist information on research progress;
Identify standard research techniques and methods that can support the research team.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences or related field
Experience and knowledge
At least two (2) years experience in socio-economic research;
Computer literate especially in data analysis using modern statistical analysis software;
Must demonstrate interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and organizational skills; and
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
