Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Place and follow up purchase orders (with foreign and local suppliers) for goods, works and services in accordance with JMS Procurement guidelines and procedures.
Monitor implementation and adherence lo contract terms and conditions, and prepare periodic procurement performance reports,
Generate and analyze weekly reports on stock outs and outstanding purchase and pro-actively liaise with the relevant parties for timely deliveries
Participate in commercial assessment of both existing and potential suppliers and service providers for JMS and recommend rational actions
Effectively utilize the Management Information System’s procurement module for effective management of the procurement cycle.
Implement all operational, legal and regulatory requirements to facilitate inspection of ordered items.
Maintain and promote sound relationship with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders in order to foster constructive feedback and continuous Improvement.
Pro-actively liaise with clearing agents on matters relating to JMS’s consignments in transit, bond, customs etc
Qualifications and experience

Bachelor degree in Business, Commerce, Procurement Logistics, Pharmacy or other relevant fields specializing in Procurement and Logistics Management.
Professional Qualifications in Procurement (CIPS) and Membership to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
At least three (3) years working experience in procurement operations in a busy environment, and reputable organization,
Relevant working experience with medicines and medical equipment will be an added advantage.
Practical experience in using Microsoft office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS, Access, PowerPoint)
Competencies and skills:

High level of integrity.
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team
Will developed oral and written communication skills.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Able to work with figures and pay attention to detail
Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work load and use initiative to meet deadlines.

Job Title: Social and Behaviour Change Communications Advisor – Nutrition
Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Social and Behaviour Change Communications Advisor-Nutrition will be responsible for providing overall guidance and technical support for the development and implementation of a community-based social and behaviour change strategy and related country activities focused on preventing malnutrition in the community under the SPRING/Uganda nutrition project

The Advisor will take the lead in developing and implementing activities that lead to a strengthened community-based nutrition approach in Uganda in the districts covered by this project.

The SBCC Advisor will work closely with the other Advisors and the Country Program Manager in carrying out this role.

The SBCC Advisor will directly manage a staff of three SBCC and Community Mobilization Specialists.

The SBC Advisor reports to the Program Manager.

Academic background, Experience & Person Specifications;

A minimum of a Masters’ degree in Communications for Social and Behaviour Change or closely related fields coupled with program-level field experience.
At least 7 years of experience in implementing community-based or related programs required.
Experience working in and leading social and behaviour change communications programs for nutrition preferred.
Degree in nutrition a plus.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability in developing effective tools and materials for field use.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage significant technical activities, including designing assessments, implementing qualitative research, identifying and collaborating with partners, and managing implementation of nutrition SBCC Interventions.
Self-initiating. Ability to effectively work independently and If needed outside of conventional office environments.
Ability to work effectively in a team consisting of people with different technical backgrounds and with varying levels of technical training.
Experience working in a global project environment requiring flexibility and openness to work with external technical assistants preterm].
Demonstrated managerial, supervisory and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate relationships, interact smoothly and effectively with clients and colleagues, and mentor junior technical staff.

Job Title: Social and Behaviour Change Communications and Community Mobilisation Specialist

Job Purpose:

The Social and Behaviour Change Communications and Community Mobilization (SBCC/CM) Specialist is a key member of the team responsible for the development and implementation of a community-based social and behaviour change communications strategy and related country activities focused on preventing malnutrition in the community under the SPRING/Uganda nutrition project.

The SBCC/CM Specialist will assist in developing and implementing activities that lead to a strengthened community-based nutrition approach in Uganda in a particular district covered by this project

The SBCC/CM Specialist will work in close collaboration with the SPRING District Nutritionist as well as with members of the district nutrition team, strategic information advisors, NGOs, district development officers and other relevant stakeholders fn Implementation of preventive services at community levels

The SBCC/CM Specialist will serve as a direct link between SPRING/Uganda and other implementing partners in the district working on the community wide preventive of malnutrition.

The SBCC/CM Specialist is supervised by the Social and Behaviour Change Communications-Nutrition Advisor.

Academic background, Experience & Person Specifications;

A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences. Social Work and Social Administration, Community Development, Community Psychology, Public Health or Nutrition. Master’s degree in the relevant field is an added advantage.
At least 4 years of proven experience in Implementing community-based nutrition or related programs/ interventions
Experience working in social behaviour change programs or related activities—formative research, strategy development
A proven track record that demonstrates leadership skills, project management, budget and resource management experience, and client relationship management capability.
Demonstrated program management competency and effective communication skills in working with district government, and implementing partners.
Team player with ability to work with staff, partners and beneficiaries of different backgrounds.
Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communications and negotiating skills: proficiency In English and Runya-krtara/Rufumbira.
Strong self-motivation required, with a commitment to quality work and openness to learn and implement new skills
