Job Description

Salary scale: Uganda Government Scale U5

Age: 25 to 50

Job purpose: To appraise and report on the utilization of financial resources to facilitate review of accounting and financial operations as a basis for protective measure to management.

Minimum qualifications:
EITHER: A Diploma in Accounting, Auditing or Financial Management or Business Administration from a recognized awarding Institution.

OR: Full Accounting Technician Certificate (ATC) or Certificate in Accounting Technician Certificate (CAT) awarded from a recognized Institution / Body accredited by The Institute of Public Accountants Uganda (ICPAU).

Duties:
• Auditing revenue collection.
• Conducting manpower audits.
• Monitoring and reviewing financial and accounting operations systems
• Auditing procurement of goods and services to ensure value for money
• Preparing monthly audit reports.

Job Title: SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR (1)

Salary scale: Uganda Government Scale U3 Age: 25 to 50

Job purpose: To pre-audit payments to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations; and monitor and examine financial operations to ensure value for money.

Minimum qualifications and experience:
EITHER: An Honors Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Auditing from a recognized University plus full professional qualification in Accounting or Auditing from a recognized Institution.

OR: Full professional qualification in Accounting or Auditing from a recognized Institution plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management or Business Administration from a recognized Institution. At least 3 (three) years experience of working experience of an Internal Auditor in a Public or reputable Institution.

Duties:
• Reviewing financial and accounting systems and procedures to ensure efficiency.
• Auditing procurement and payment procedures to facilitate efficient and effective transaction in the Urban Council.
• Auditing manpower in line with the budgets and laws.
• Conducting Stores Audit for safe custody, efficiency and economic usage of resources.
• Undertaking Council audits in liaison with Auditor General.
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring Departmental programmes and
• Preparing and submitting annual; and quarterly departmental work plans.

Job Title: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (1)

Post: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Salary Scale: Uganda Government Scale U2 Age: 25 to 50

Job purpose: To coordinate and manage all engineering and technical works in the Municipality

Minimum qualifications and experience:
• Should hold an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution.
• A Post Graduate in Civil Works from a recognized Institution.
• Should be a registered Engineer with Uganda Engineers Registration Board (UERB).
• At least 6 (six) years in Civil Engineering job of which should have been at head of section level, 3 (three) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Engineer (Civil).

Duties:
• Providing technical advice and guidance to stakeholders.
• Preparing technical specifications of contracts
• Supervising all the technical works in the Municipality
• Preparing work plans and budgets for the technical works in the Municipality.
• Approving buildings and other structural plans
• Developing and maintaining water and sanitation systems.
• Enforcing engineering works policies.
