Job Requirements:



Qualifications
•    Must be  trained  at a Registered  Midwife level  from  a recognized  Institution .
•    Must be  registered with the  Nurses and Midwives Council.
•    Must  have  a valid  Practicing  License .

Duties
•    Receiving  patients , registering  admissions ,  deliveries , discharges and deaths .
•    Carrying  out antenatal  care  and identify  high  risk cases  for   referral .
•    Providing  care during pregnancy , labor, delivery and  puerperium  with emphasis  to prevention of infection and  complications  to mother  and  baby .
•    Sensitizing  mothers about  benefits  of breast feeding  and recommended  diet .
•    Participating  in bedside  nursing  procedures as a  member  of the  caring  team.
•    Carrying  out  Human  Resource  Management  functions such as  training and staff performance  appraisal
•    Compiling  daily  ward reports  and handling  over to  in-coming  shift.

•    Those who have  completed  the  six months training  in midwifery will have  an added  advantage .
