PROGRAMME ACCOUNTANT
JRP seeks a qualified Programme Accountant to support the programme work of JRP in seeking to be financially responsive and accountable. The role supports the maintenance and development of financial and funding infrastructure that supports JRP’s programmes. It looks at day-to-day management and reporting on financial progress of JRP programmes in consultation with programme leaders. The role demands a varied range of skills and aptitudes. As a mid-level officer, the accountant works in close collaboration with the Management Team, programme team leaders and the Finance and Administration Team Leader. S/he supports the JRP team in planning and management of programme finances. The post is based at the JRP headquarters in Gulu.
Key duties include:
Maintenance and routine monitoring of finance systems.
Day-to-day records and book-keeping.
Preparing programme budgets in consultation with programme leaders.
Monitoring day-to-day financial progress.
Operating and maintaining accounting systems.
Ensuring programme value for money.
Requirement:
The successful candidate will have a relevant finance / management qualification (at least a Bachelor’s degree) and substantial experience in financial and administration management, ideally in the NGO sector.
