MANAGER VAS AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS
Reporting to Information Systems Manager The successful candidates will demonstrate:
• Strong knowledge of the existing networks (service nodes, transmission and access, wireless) and information, Computing and communication technologies and services.
• Strong knowledge of ICT technological trends and associated services
• Knowledge of strategic planning and strong analytical skills to the development of long/short term plans.
• The ability to provide leadership and guidance as a strategic mentor to colleagues and employees:
• Excellent writing skills lot both conceptual and detailed maloiiul with an articulate and compelling verbal slyle.
• To be a highly effective manager of people and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Collaborates easily with others.
.• The ability to create a climate of trust and transparency with stakeholders.
DW and Bl Strategy, and solution loadrnap
■ To make reviews on sub secfional and business requests foi VAS and Technology Innovations and makes recommendations.
■ To oversee the daily operational activities of VAS and Technology innovations.
■ To plan and evaluate the work of professional, technical and other support staff
■ To ensure that the daily, weekly and monthly business reports are delivered in time
■ To prepare monthly Information Services reports to the Head Information Services.
■ To contribute to Information Service processes development for all the line sub-units
■ To implement the developed Information Services processes in liaison with other units
■ Capacity and HR planning of the sub section in consultation with Head Information Services
■ Capacity planning of all Business, Operational and related Support Systems
■ To ensure the team is motivated to deliver high quality and state of the art services
■ To coordinate preparation and manage the Budget (CAPEX & OPEX) for the section
■ To ensure appropriate IS staff placements and equitable distribution of workload
■ To manage staff performance management
■ Regular Staff appraisals
• Effective negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills.
• Able to work harmoniously in a multicultural environment.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of personal computers, telecommunications and information technology
Applicants must have:
• Engineering degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer and automatism technology or any related fields.,
• Postgraduate level in a related field is an added advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience in the ICT industry particularly in an operational and planning role, 2 of which should have been spent in a senior position
• Postgraduate qualification in project planning and management
• Proven track record of Achievements at a managerial level
Duties & Responsibilities:
■ To contribute towards the development of an Information Services Strategy which is in line with the overall Company Strategy;
■ To establish written policies and procedures for VAS and Technology Innovation sub section that is inline with information technology acquisition and utilization
■ To budget for sub section
■ To establish Bl Objectives and goals and j confinuesly work with senior management to ensure the objectives are inline with business expectations and meet the needs of the customer
■ To participate in the development of Business innovations standards
• To benchmark VAS strategy with the key leading Service providers globally e.g. BT, Deutch Telecom etc
■ To design, . develop, deploy and support standard online Transaction Processing(OliP) applications- that interface with Oracle, My-SQL databases
■ To design, develop, deploy .and support reports based on Oracle, MySQL and /or MS-SQL database
■ To ensure that all OSS/BSS are operational within the agreed SLAs
■ To provide leadership around DW and Bl projects, including development of
■ Work out strategies to ensure continuous Performance improvement
■ Monitor staff and Sectional performance
■ Set realistic, challenging and achievable targets
■ To ensure appropriate IS staff skills to enable efficient OSS/BSS management
■ Coordinate development of staff Personal Development Plan
■ Develop IS and other Business Staff Training plan
■ Ensure appropriate staff placements and equitable distribution of workload
■ To contribute to Information Service processes development for all the line sub-units
■ To implement the developed Information Services processes in liaison with other units
