Job summary:
Participate in the medical activities as a doctor in the TB Ward, the Chest Clinic, PMTCT department, Nutrition/pediatric department and Arua regional referral hospitals HIV AIDS Programme in order to improve the quality of patient care. General duties include;
Ensure the HIV activities are carried out according to MSF/MoH policies
Participate in carrying out the consultations and prescription of drugs according MSF standard protocols. Participate in doing wards rounds and being on call in week-ends Supervise the Clinical Officers’ consultations and prescriptions and mentor to them accordingly Supervise and ensure patient follow up, updated medical files and documentation is done
Conduct file review frequently with the clinicians to identify relevant needs for mentoring and in-service training to enhance quality care
Ensure that all patients that are transferred out fit the criteria for transfer out to other districts and facilities and monitor contra referrals
Performs frequent analyses of carried out activities and share relevant data to the team as required Assist in monitoring the care of patients referred for admission and conducts frequent discussions with other doctors Assist in leading the unit in case presentations discussions to enhance on job training and quality of care. Occasionally participate in the redesign of SOP for the HIV programme.
Requirement:
Qualified Medical doctor registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners council.
Experience and skills in TB and HIV AIDS is mandatory
Ability to work in a multicultural, multidisciplinary team
English spoken and written
Wording experience of 2 years or more
Willing to work under pressure with minimum supervision
Experience in Paediatrics is an added advantage
Data analytic skills would be an advantage.
Ability to liaise and work with Ministry of Health staff
