Job Description:

REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR-RESEARCH, STATISTICS & POLICY ANALYSIS
ROLE:
Collect, compile and analyze revenue related Macro-economic and
Tax data for decision making in line with URA guidelines
KEY RESULT AREAS:
a) Conduct research on tax related issues and present findings according to
departmental guidelines.
b) Profile, identify, collect and establish the tax status of various tax payers and advice
collecting departments in line with departmental guidelines.
c) Collect, compile and analyze revenue related statistics, macro-economic data and
generate reports in line with departmental guidelines.
d) Build and maintain tax related databases required for fiscal planning and generate
reports in line with departmental guidelines.
e) Prepare and produce revenue related analytical reports on a monthly, quarterly and
annual basis in line with departmental guidelines.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
1. Academic Qualifications
Essential:
a) An honors Degree in Economics, Statistics, Quantitative Economics or closely
related field from a recognized Institution.
b) Research related training especially in econometrics, research methods and other
closely related fields

Desirable:
Post Graduate qualifications in Economics, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Policy
Analysis or a closely relevant field will be an added advantage
2. Experience and Knowledge
a) At least one year’s experience in data analysis and statistics work
b) A demonstrated interest, knowledge and hands on experience of tax policy and
administration and Microsoft applications
c) Hands on experience in the application of Data Analysis Tools
3. Character & Abilities:
a) Strong analytical abilities and reporting
b) Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly people management High-level integrity &
Confidentiality
c) Self -driven professional with excellent oral and written communication skills
d) Ability to lead and work as part of a team
