TERMS: 3 YEARS CONTRACT
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University
plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal practice from Law Development Centre.
Possession of a Masters degree in the relevant field and Membership to relevant professional Associations
will be an added advantage
Applicants should have a minimum of 9 years working experience in Legal Practice three (3) years of which
should have been served at the level of assistant commissioner or assistant head of department in
Government or equivalent level of relevant working experience from a reputable organization
He/she should have the following key competences: Integrity and confidentiality, management and
supervision, Strategic thinking and planning, oral and written communication, setting up a high performing
team, interpersonal relations, ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple
and challenging tasks an ability to meet timelines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the immediate Supervisor for performing the following duties:-
? Conducting research on legal matters, interpreting laws, advising and guiding the Director Legal
services in line with the KCCA Act
? Providing Secretarial services to the Management Executive and Disciplinary Committees and be a
member of the Contracts Committee and coordinating follow up actions on issues arising from the
Committees in line with KCCA Act.
? Responding to council’s enquiries, queries, claims and complaints in line with the KCCA Act
? Compiling, analyzing and preparing reports on issues arising from council policy rulings for
management information in line with the KCCA Act and management guidelines.
? Developing and maintaining an updated departmental information management system in line with
departmental guidelines.
? Managing the performance and development of staff in line with the HRMM and management
decision.
? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
