Job Title: Derrickman- QSL/OGEC/08/13-05 - 12 posts
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the smooth running of the mud pumps and all the mud processing equipment and to perform routine maintenance on the same
• Maintain all mud pumping and processing area in a clean and tidy condition
• Monitor active pit levels to assist in well control, reporting any anomalies to the Driller immediately
• Assist in installation and movement of B.O.P. equipment
• Carry out repairs to the fluid end of the mud pumps and valves in the LP mud system
• Making up DCs, DPs, HWDP (setting pipes pin to box during RIH operations, racking on setback, visibility);
• Mud balance;
• Cleaning and changing shale shaker screens;
• Emergency training (types, signals).
Requirement:
• After coming off the mast:
• Controlling the valves on suction and discharge lines;
• Controlling the work of mud pump;
• Lubricating the rods;
• Disassembling the monkey board and safety lines;
• Checking and setting the safety valve;
• Principles of use for the cablock and safety harness.
Work Environment:
• Derrick man usually works 85 -105 feet above flat surface, the work place is narrow and hot.
• Since the work place for Derrick man is quite dangerous, the employees are provided with safety suits. Skill and Competency Requirements: Must have knowledge in pipes alignment and drilling.
• Should know how to operate diesel motors, pumps and drilling mud systems.
• Ability to read monitor pressure and mud density.
• Knowledge in basic Math, to calculate dense of mud A good observer, good in monitoring mud density, pressure and oil Must have strong built and has healthy body.
• Can work long hours.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• High school degree or technical degree in petroleum engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
• certificates in first aid,
• Language: English
• Safety Training Courses and Medical Certificate
