MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Social Sciences or
Development Studies or Business Administration (Management Option) or Community/Rural Development
studies or Social Work and Social Administration or any other course in the field of Gender or Community
Development from a recognized University, plus a Masters Degree in any of the above disciplines.
Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years working experience in Community Development of which 3
years must have been gained at Principal level or middle Management level in Government or
equivalent level form a reputable organization.
He/she should have the following Key competences: Designing community programs, Gender
mainstreaming, engaging development partners and stakeholders Ability to lead and supervise others,
guiding and developing subordinates, Good Intra/ interpersonal relations, community mobilization skills,
Good research and analytical skills
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Deputy Director Gender, Welfare and Community Services for
performing the following duties:-
Coordinating and supporting the development, designing and delivering of community development
programs
Spearheading the process of mainstreaming gender in the Authority plans
Planning , developing , and monitoring the implementation of effectiveness gender and community
development programs
Monitoring and evaluating the effective implementation of National and local laws and policies on
social development
Spearheading the rolling out of the social investment development investment plan at the Authority
level
Ensuring that all project activities are monitored and evaluated systematically and key lessons learnt
and best practices are documented
Managing the performance of staff and Development in accordance with the Performance Management
guidelines.
Developing designing and evaluating the effectiveness of programs for gender and community
development.
Guiding and advising the City Authority /urban council members on gender and community
development programs
Designing mechanisms for collecting, monitoring, analyzing and disseminating data on gender and
community development.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
