The Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice is looking to fill the following position: Programme Officer DRC/CAR (Full Time), based in Kampala, Uganda, with possible future relocation to Eastern DRC.

The Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice is an international women's human rights organisation that advocates for the prosecution of gender-based crimes through the International Criminal Court (ICC) and works with women most affected by armed conflict situations under investigation by the ICC. The Women's Initiatives (WI) currently has offices in Cairo-Egypt, Kampala and Kitgum-Uganda and The Hague-The Netherlands.

Job Requirements:

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Programme Officer DRC/CAR will be responsible to coordinate and grow the Women's Initiatives country based programmes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Central African Republic (CAR). S/he will coordinate capacity and movement building initiatives; building our partnerships particularly with conflict-based women's rights and peace activists in DRC and CAR; monitor implementation of peace talks and peace initiatives in these countries. S/he will also liaise with women's rights and justice organisations in Cote d'Ivoire and Mali. In collaboration with the WI Kitgum based Uganda Programme Officer, set up a new WI office in Kampala, which will be a hub office for WI programme and legal monitoring activities in the region.

Essential Experience/skills:

    Minimum 5 years employment in the field of women's human rights and gender equality or direct involvement in the integration of gender issues in relevant fields e.g. public health, humanitarian, emergency/crisis response, HIV and AIDS, the justice and/or social sectors;
    Experience working at national and international levels including working within I/NGO sector and grassroots organisations;
    Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
    Willingness and ability to travel frequently and work in insecure environments;
    Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Political Science, Public Health, Law, Social Sciences or other relevant academic study;
    Fluency in written and spoken English and French.

Desired Experience/skills:

    Working knowledge of Swahili; knowledge of other local languages from DRC or CAR;
    Awareness of and commitment to the Rome Statute and the International Criminal Court;
    Good knowledge of political and legal contexts of DRC and CAR and the Africa Great Lakes Region;
    Direct experience in working with victims/survivors of sexual and gender-based crimes.

Job Purpose

To support the SAP Data Migration and Data Cleansing Activities this includes extraction of data from different sources (legacy systems, spreadsheets), its transformation and load into the new SAP system. The Data Cleansing covers a number of activities that ensure the data loaded into SAP is of high quality.


Responsibilities/Key Objectives

The SAP Project Implementation Support will be responsible for the following:

    Perform data cleansing in the legacy systems and support data collection.
    Ensuring that the data to be loaded into the new SAP system is of good quality and complies with the organization's current and future business rules.
    Eliminating redundant master data and reducing the number of master data items to be considered for migration to SAP.
    Ensuring Data Quality Rules (DQR’s) for each SAP data object identified are applied to current legacy data.
    Ensuring that Rules that need to be applied to future data capture requirements are applied correctly to data sources and data collection tools (Cognos, Data Cleansing Report Tool).
    Supporting Extraction of data from both SUN and Maximo
    Providing KPI reports for the monitoring of DQR non-compliance.
    Support the process of reconciling data in SAP to the data in the Legacy systems.

    Graduate
    Experience in systems implementations especially data collection and data migration
