Essential Responsibilities
Develop and implement a clear and concise communication strategy that showcases the program;
Ensure strong visual branding for CLUSA’s Uganda Conservation Farming Initiative both in Kampala and at field sites;
Proactively seek out events to showcase CLUSA’s program;
Coordinate all events where the CLUSA ‘ program is showcased;
Responsible for the writing and design of office publications including printed material and other media including video documentaries;
Responsible for capturing success stories detailing impact of program interventions with beneficiaries using specifications given by the donor;
Responsible for ordering business cards/ identification cards for staff and signage for CLUSA or partners to maintain standard protocol;
Responsible for keeping a journal of all newspaper postings and/or internet searches that reference any happenings along the grains value chain and/or information pertaining to our government counterparts, and providing a bi-weekly summary sent out to all staff;
Responsible for managing the program photo databank; both taking photos and collecting photos from staff members for use with publications on demand.
Responsible for editing reports and/or publications drafted by the technical team;
Responsible for any needed translations of materials whether official letters/ communications, beneficiary training materials, newspaper postings, or any other documents;
Responsible for proper archiving of all communications documents and photos;
Attend any communications workshops facilitated by donors;
Any other duties as assigned.
Requirement:
Bachelors in related field;
Excellent writer in the English language a MUST;
Team player who can lead implementation of a strong and integrated communications strategy;
Graphic design skills a plus.

Planning and scheduling:

Prioritize and facilitate responses from department heads and other staff.
Coordination/liaison:
Provide administrative assistance to ED and act as a key liaison with external parties.
Work as liaison with staff members to coordinate projects, calendars, special events and occasional needs outside the office.
Maintain and develop positive relationships with external institutions, business contacts and prominent business figures through effective communication.
Respond to requests in a timely and professional manner and keeping the ED informed of any matters of significance.

Administrative support:

Research and gather site specific information as needed for conferences and other business meetings.
Draft responses as requested and provide word processing support including editing and proofing of documents for the ED’s communications.
Maintain information management system for business and personal matters for the office of the ED.
Review and format reports for the ED on need basis.
Specific projects/miscellaneous:
Assist the ED with various independent projects throughout the year as directed. Examples; track professional or business projects, research and assist with material needed for Boards or committees ED belongs to, organise and coordinate invitations lists for any related programmes etc
In liaison with the respective staff, assist in writing speeches and presentations on various, issues as requested.
Assist the Programme Manager in the production of annual reports of EPRC Work with various departments on projects as assigned.
Requirement:
Proficiency in handling confidential matters, diplomacy and professionalism in dealing with internal and external customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HRH Policy and Planning Advisor will work directly with both the MOH and the districts to provide technical assistance in the areas of policy analysis, review and development; strategic human resources planning, including health workforce projection, action planning; and costing S/he will lead and provide technical support for activities in developing capacities for human resource policy development, planning and systems strengthening in the health sector. S/he will apply her/his extensive knowledge of the health sector planning primarily to work at the national and district levels.SI he will report to the Deputy Chief of Party.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist country level counterparts and stakeholders in the public and private sector in reviewing, developing and strengthening systems for policy analysis, HRH assessments, human resources information systems, workforce planning and projection systems at the national and district levels.
Assist health sector leaders and managers to review HR legislative policies, operational practices and procedures, build capacity and improve systems (such as policy reform, operationalization of policies and strategies, costing and financing, health workforce utilization) in order to improve the quality and availability of health services in all parts of Uganda, especially in remote and low resource geographic locations.
Responsible for building collaborative relationships with and between stakeholders.
Lead in documenting best practices in technical papers and in analyzing and adapting innovative tools and resources for use by Uganda and other developing country health sector leaders.
Offer technical leadership in sharing and developing new and improved strategies, tools and interventions for improved human resources planning, availability and productivity and in documenting evidence of success or lack of success for the interventions.

Organize and lead work teams for assigned activities,- including preparing budgets, tracking expenditures, ensuring work proceeds according to plans and timelines and ensuring the quality of the deliverables.
Provide the linkages required within the public health sector and with specified partners to support the complementarity and synergy in investment in HRH in the country.
Requirement:
Advanced degree in Public Health, Economics, Human Resources Planning, or any related training
Self-starter with competence to assess priorities; manage a variety of complex activities in a time-sensitive/emergency environment, and meet competing deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant HRH planning tools and models applicable in Uganda.
Proven ability to carry out economic analysis of HRH issues; and sound costing of interventions to motivate resource allocation for HRH.
A minimum of eight years’ experience in developing human resource policies and strategies in a complex and changing environment.
Ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast paced environment Strong verbal arid written English language skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with diverse people, clients and consultants.
