Effectively supervise entry of data, carry out routine data cleaning, validation, analysis and reporting
Carry out database administration and make regular data backups
Monitor proper usage, maintenance of ICT equipment, repair and servicing of ICT equipment
Administer and manage user accounts on the LAN for project staff
Coordinate activities and ensure availability of logistical support to the data management department
Prepare and submit periodic reports on the information and data management activities.
Requirement:
Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics or Computer Science Minimum Experience and Exposure:
3 year in data management preferably in health related position

Policy on data management ,
Ethical issues in data management
Key Skills Comprehensive knowledge of computer data input equipment, database management systems, processes and procedures; knowledge of computer programs such as Epilnfo 2000, SAS, SPSS, MS Access, Nvivo2, SQL or Ethnograph 5, and thorough knowledge of computers (hardware, various software programs and LAN systems) as well as good knowledge of manipulation of data for reporting and analysis is required.

Job Description

Reports to: Associate Director, Health and HIV/AIDS

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide technical support and coordination of maternal and child health programs in the National Office and Area Development Programmes (ADPs) to ensure alignment with Ministry of Health (MOH) maternal and child survival strategies focusing on implementing key intervention models and program packages for community based maternal and child health interventions in Uganda.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To support strategy development and priority setting for maternal and child health interventions in World Vision Uganda (WVU)

• Build a coalition with World Vision Uganda partners for capacity building of National Maternal and Child Health (MCH)/Nutrition Managers/ Coordinators and to assist them in developing high quality maternal and child health nutrition programs.

• Assist WVU supported districts and WVU supported NGOs, Faith Based Organisations (FBOSs) to plan, scale up and strengthen community and facility based maternal and child health prevention and treatment services.

• Provide technical Assistance to ADPs/ Clusters in conducting situation analysis, baseline survey and program design pertaining to MCH programs.

• Support the formulation and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation framework for MCH programs in the Country.

• Work with WVU partners to design and effectively use information, education and communication (IEC) materials in promoting maternal and child health at national and community level.

• Liaise with other sectors to ensure that MCH outcomes are integrated across sectors and programming

• Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), nutrition and / or health related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years experience in managing maternal, child health and nutrition programs or projects

Job summary and Responsibilities

In charge of managing the CUWS Laboratory and ensuring that the laboratory equipment, chemicals and procedures conform to the established National Laboratory standards and requirements. Ensuring that routine water quality monitoring and assessment is done within the member schemes.

Specific Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of application development and support team

• Work closely with the technical Business Analyst Consultant, programmes and support functions to understand new and/or changed business requirements and processes.

• System analysis of existing systems. Assist with gathering, analysing and evaluating information from multiple sources and illicit true business needs based on stated user requirements.

• Identifying options for potential processes and solutions which meet the agreed business needs, considering both technical and business suitability.

2. Management of CLiC and MarieTxt



• Overall supervision of two MSU existing systems – CLIC (MIS) and MarieTxt (SMS)

• Line Management of two RME Officer for CLIC and MarieTxt3.

3. Coordination and Communication



• Strengthen coordination across the BA function, ensuring that the BA function is integrated across MSU and across RME, and is aligned with organisational priorities.

Key clients include the Operations team and USAID project managers, as well as the social marketing and social franchise teams.

• Ensure that quick, responsive and high quality support is provided to key clients.

• Ensure that the work of the CLIC and MarieTxt functions are well integrated within the RME team.

Qualifications:

ROLE:

The Country Program Manager will be representing the Farm Africa in Uganda at all levels and will be in charge of developing and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders which include INGOS, local CSOs, Donors, the relevant Ministries and their affiliates of the Government of Uganda, research and academic institutions and bilateral and multilateral institutions. • Research varied development and practice models that help Farm Africa in the design and delivery of programs and also support and contribute to professional development of staff.

KEY OUTCOMES:

• Strong leadership on creating and developing links with stakeholders and networks.

• Promotion of the Farm Africa brand and enhancement of its reputation through positive relationships with all others stakeholders including local and international NGOs, donors, governments and Embassies.

• Will have coordinated work on proposal development in response to call for proposals (at least two/three in a year).

• Will have developed the Farm Africa country strategic plan built within the global Farm Africa strategy Periodic reports reflecting major context, developments and relationships

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

• Post graduate level education in a related field such as but not limited to Agriculture, agricultural Economics, International Development, Project Management, and Business Management, Social work, and related fields

• 5-7 years related work experience, including 3 years experience managing or overseeing multiple projects/representing organizations.

• Experience coordinating and integrating programmes/projects and budgets in complex operating environments.

• Organizational and management skills, with proven strengths in programme Development and management.

• Strong analytical and strategic skills and experience in developing

• Strong skills in capacity building/knowledge transfer methodologies.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills in English

• Demonstrated skills in diplomacy and building diplomatic relationships with various stakeholders.

Farm Africa is a specialist international non-governmental organisation (INGO) working in remote and resource-poor rural areas. Founded in 1985, we help smallholder farmers and herders in Africa to grow more food, keep their livestock healthy, make a basic living and manage their natural resources in a sustainable way. Farm Africa has been working in the five eastern African countries since 1987: Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan and Ethiopia. We have developed key expertise in the areas of forestry, livestock and fisheries, and crop agriculture.

Farm Africa has developed its global Strategy for the period 2012-2015. As a result of the strategy, it has also become apparent that it has to restructure the country programs; thus the Uganda and Tanzania Programs are now run and managed from a recently opened Country Programme Office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In Uganda, Farm Africa currently implements three projects: climbing bean production and marketing; maize production and marketing; and beans, rice, maize and ground nuts production and marketing projects.
