MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:

following duties:-
 Conducting project design with the Engineering team.
 Performing specific design tasks as directed by Team Leader.
 Working closely on construction plans with clients, architects, contractors and other professionals.
 Investigating the properties and suitability of materials.
 Assessing the loads and stresses on different parts of structures.
 Using computer simulations to predict how structures will react under different conditions
 Inspecting unsafe buildings and recommending options for repairs or demolition.
 Preparing bids for tenders, supervising project teams and giving progress reports to supervisor.

2. Supervises all aspects of data entry; assists with data collection, analysis and report generation.

3. Responsible for developing data collection tools for various research studies and/or programs.

4. Oversees and maintains the productivity and accuracy of the data team; assists with supervision of the data entrants as they capture and process data.

5. Manage the research studies and program databases.

6. Provide data processing support, which includes Epi Info screens development, periodic data cleaning as necessary, data analysis as may be requested and provision of statistical support.

7. Ensure timely response to quality control reports and emails sent from data management centres, in consultation with the Deputy Director Research Coordination

8. Production of data management SOPs for research studies and programs.

9. Generate manuscripts, abstracts, study and program reports.
Preferred Skills:

Requirements:
• Must hold a BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Maths or Statistics; Biostatistics knowledge is an added advantage.

• Must be conversant with database and statistical applications such as Stata, Microsoft Access, SQL and SAS.

• Effective in communicating both verbally and in writing, with ability to explain technical and statistical information to other team members.

• 5 years working experience in a busy donor–funded organization conducting research, with 2 years working as supervisor.

• High integrity and excellent management skills.

The role
We are in need of a Programme Officer- Agriculture and Business Development to support the value chain actors to access various agribusiness services required for their business expansion especially market access and financial services. (S)he will be part of a group of the Kitgum programme team and will participate actively in developing context analysis, positioning and designing interventions and business models relevant for agribusiness development. (S)he will provide support to the programme manager in planning , implementation, monitoring and evaluation of livelihoods programme activities and provide technical guidance to project partners, value chain actors and stakeholders on matters relating to strengthening of specified value chain in Kitgum and Lamwo.

The Person
You should possess a University degree in agribusiness development, agricultural economics, rural development, development studies or in area of institutional development linked to agriculture.
Preferred Skills: You should have at least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in rural areas. Proven experience in value chain development and gender enterprise and markets. You should have proven track record in provision of business development services to small and medium enterprises plus demonstrated experience in process facilitation and institutional development especially producer organizations. Knowledge of gender and social inclusion concepts and governance for empowerment principles in general is a must have as well as a good understanding and appreciation of Acholiland context and willingness to travel widely within the region.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chairperson, the Executive Director will bear the following responsibilities:-

• Work with the Board from time to time in developing policies that will guide the operations of the Chapter.

• Lobby and advocate on policy matters at national and community levels to sensitise policy makers on issues pertaining to girl’s and women’s education

• Forge partnerships with likeminded bodies and conduct advocacy.

• Conduct interventions in order to demonstrate what works for girls’ education.

• Achieve effective replication and mainstreaming by documenting and disseminating the chapter’s best practices as well as initiating dialogue to infl uence mainstreaming.

• Promote corporate governance by carrying out membership drive

• Ensuring that Board meetings are convened in accordance with the constitutional requirements.

• Ensure suffi cient funding through effective strategies and resource mobilisation.

• Ensure that appropriate systems are in place for monitoring and evaluating the Chapter’s work including indicators of performance and impact on improving girls’ education.

• Undertake regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the strategic plan and work programme.

• Prepare and submit regular operational reports.

• Run the affairs of the Chapter effectively and effi ciently through optimal utilisation of resources, monitoring staff performance, mentoring staff as well as building their
capacities.
Preferred Skills:

Qualifications and Experience Ugandan ladies who hold the following qualifi cations will be considered: -

• A Masters’ degree in education, social science and administration, or development studies.

• A minimum of five years post-qualification experience in an NGO and in education and gender related work.

• Training in project planning and management.

• Computer profi ciency in MS Offi ce.

• Age bracket: between 35 to 50 years of age

• Demonstrable financial management skills
