Job Title : Internal Auditor

Reports to : General Manager



1. Main Purpose

To support the Board of Directors and General Manager, to implement audit plans, systems and policies of the Audit function at the UECCC

2. Key Outputs

a) Annual audit plans for approval by the Management Committee and the Board of Directors;

b) Reports on the review of internal controls, operations, risk management and governance processes;

c) Quarterly Audit Reports for review by Management and presentation to the Board;

3. Duties and Responsibilities

Work with management to ensure that a risk management system is in place;
To conduct routine auditing of books of accounts and related records to ensure compliance with accountability requirements;
To conduct periodic reviews of all functional and operational units in accordance with the approved audit plans;
Participate in the co-ordination of external audits and follow up on audit recommendations for Management implementation;
Prepare periodic Internal Audit reports for information of management and the Board of Directors;
Provide assurance that operations and processes conform to current UECCC policies and procedures;
Detect fraud and irregularities.

4. Person Specifications

A good (Honors) degree in Accounting;
At least 3 years relevant working experience, gained at either an Audit Firm, Government or a large corporate entity; including knowledge of audit procedures, planning, techniques and methods;
A professional Audit or Accounting Qualification such as ACCA, CPA is an added advantage;
Self driven with ability to work under minimum supervision;
Computer literacy is a must.

Job Title:Transaction Execution Officer (TEO)

Reports to : Manager, Transaction Execution



1.0 Main Purpose

To support the Manager, Transaction Execution in packaging credit support transactions as well as providing transaction advisory services to financial Institutions and Project Sponsors engaged in the development of renewable energy projects. This will include undertaking of detailed technical analyses of the renewable energy technologies and projects to be supported by the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UECCC).

2.0 Key Outputs

a) To prepare reports containing an independent assessment of the renewable energy projects including descriptions of the results;

b) Negotiate and Structure credit and or technical support transactions with both financial intermediaries and project sponsors

c) To prepare Credit and Technical support deals for further review by the Manager, Transaction Execution

3.0 Duties and Responsibilities

Structuring of the Credit and Technical support transactions between UECCC and Participating financial institutions and project developers/ Sponsors;
Performing due diligence and technical analysis of projects to be supported by the UECCC;
Analyse the business plans of Project Developers, with a view to provide focus towards progressing the projects to financial closure;
Take a Pro-active approach to developing a pipeline;
Provide financial Institutions and project sponsors engaged in renewable energy projects with a point of contact at UECCC focused on building strategic relationships;
Ongoing collaboration and liaison with key stakeholders during the entire project development cycle of the rural electrification and / or renewable energy investment projects;
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Management

4.0 Person Specifications

A good (Honours) degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
A Masters degree in an Energy related field and a good understanding of renewable energy technologies are an added advantage
A good understanding of the market for private investments in the Energy Sector
Motivation, Initiative and Self Driven
Good written as well as oral communication skills;
Well developed interpersonal skills

5.0 Terms and Conditions of Service

3. Drug supply chain oversight and setting of controls

Orders- Vet IMC drug orders before forwarding them to IMG Pharmaceuticals.
Ensure IMG Pharmaceuticals supplies the amounts as requested and planned for.
Manage MOH drug supplies in the IMCs (orders, documentation, accountability)
Minimize wastage through control of expiry
Establish and maintain controls to minimize pilfering.
Ensure adherence to drug procurement guidelines and SOPs
Demonstrate adherence to the IMG formulary
Distribute drugs to the centers against pre-determined stock levels and practices.
Inspect drugs for near expiry and expired items.
Reporting on incidents and stock value at the different units.

Monthly reports to the pharmacist
Stock value at the different units
Incident reports

5. Meetings

Attend Pharmacy department meetings and IMC Management meetings.

6. Training

Train staff on key department processes i.e. safe dispensing, Good stock management, interpersonal skills and minimizing waste.
Maintain up to date set of reference books i.e. BNF.

7. Communication

To and from the dispensaries with purpose of implementation of IMG strategies
Act as a contact person for dispensing staff in the IMC dispensaries.

8. Conduct regular audits of the IMC dispensary

Dispensing and other pharmacy records like incident books
Stock on the shelves and Stock management records e.g. orders, receipt reconciliation, usage reports

9. Client relations
Promote both internal and external client satisfaction by providing regular updates on pharmacy systems, training and feedback.

JOB TITLE: Agricultural Specialist
LOCATION: Kampala, Uganda, with travel to other areas in Uganda
DURATION: 5 Years
SUMMARY: Relief International (RI) is currently recruiting Agricultural Specialist candidates for an anticipated multi-year nutrition program in Uganda. The program will increase local capacity to manufacture fortified food products using locally sourced materials and distribute them in Uganda. The Agricultural Specialist will be based in Kampala and travel to other program areas in Uganda.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and implement activities to increase agricultural production of small scale farmers
Work with farmers and farming cooperatives to set and implement quality standards for agricultural products
Work closely with the Chief of Party to develop work plans (interim and annual) and budgets based on expected program outputs and results.
Monitor household food security and gross margin per unit of land, among other indicators
Manage food security team on all areas of implementation
Work with local partners and government officials to implement food security activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
Eight or more years of experience in the field of agriculture
A master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
Experience working with small scale farmers
Experience with peanuts or oilseeds preferred
Ability to live, work, and travel in Uganda.
Previous experience in East Africa; experience in Uganda preferred.
Fluent English required; Swahili preferred
Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Demonstrated decision making, problem solving, and team building ability.
Valid Passport.

Assignments may range from 2-18 months, depending on the contract granted.

Requirements:
o Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in at least one of the sectors listed above
o Masters’ degree from an Internationally Recognized University in a relevant field (minimum qualification)
o Strong Financial skills, a degree in Business/ Finance is a strong asset
o Related experience in a developing country context working in the international development sector in at least one of the fields listed above
