Job Title: Head of Credit Control

Responsibilities:

To process all new accounts with the company. And to ensure that new accounts are credit worthy and that trade is happening between the two parties according to agreed terms mentioned in the contracts.
To ensure that all accounts are well controlled and that all outstanding monies owed to the company is collected and paid in a timely manner.
Supervise the Credit control department and assist in the setting up of the credit control system and strategy that ensures maximum customer liaison in all issues related to payments.
Responsible for collection of dedicated accounts, follow-up of freight-collect accounts and fortnightly review the collectors’ accounts.
Ensuring that all scheduled meetings between Operations and Credit Control are taking place (disputes, cash accounts, UPS etc.)
Ensure management of risk in all aspects related to credit business of the company by ensuring strict adherence, respect and control of the organisation’s Risk Policy.
Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales. To report collection difficulties to the Finance Manager and Head of Department
Producing timely financial reports to management which should be reflecting the actual position of the company’s credit business. To also maintain accurate records of all the collection activity.
Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness.
Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms. To also provide accurate advice on billing queries.
Relationship management with the main corporate clients of the company by responding promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries with effective business development approaches.
Undertake account reconciliations as and when required.
Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
Develop the credit management capability within the practice and provide cover for other accounting functions may be requested.
Keep the partnership up to date with new credit management techniques and practices
Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Finance Manager or any other person designated in their absence.
Ensuring the monthly report is forwarded to the Finance Manager within 5 (Five) working days after the closure date.

Qualifications:

Should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Hons) from a recognized University/ Institution.
Relevant professional qualifications will have an added advantage.
Should have at least 3 to 5 years post qualification hands on experience gained working in a busy accounting environment 2 of which should be at a senior level. Candidates who have worked in debt collections departments will be advantaged.
Excellent report writing and communication skills and a good command of the English language.
Strong business acumen with excellent negotiating skills.
Excellent man management skills.

Provide overall technical direction and oversight of programmatic activities to support judicial independence and integrity in Uganda;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The candidate should possess a Master’s degree in political science, international development, law, or related field;
Demonstrated experience working with the Judiciary and legal systems in Uganda;
At least five years of work experience in human rights, rule of law, democracy, or governance with a particular focus on entrenching multiparty democracy;
At least three years’ experience in providing technical assistance and capacity building (technical, organizational, and financial management) support to government institutions and/or CSOs;
Demonstrated expertise in developing domestic, regional, or international advocacy campaigns to advance rule of law / human rights;
Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with local partners, government officials, bilateral donors, as well as in-country and foreign experts;
Demonstrated ability to mobilize communities and encourage the inclusion of marginalized groups;
Demonstrated experience in developing activity work plans, budgets, implementing programmatic activities, and providing short-term technical assistance;
Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, and other donor approaches to civil society development;
Experience developing project proposals for USAID, Department of State, European human rights institutions and private donor organizations;
Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing;
Ability to use productivity software such as MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; and Microsoft Excel.

Through a facilitative approach increase farmer access to improved inputs (seed, fertilizer, production services and crop protection products) by stimulating demand via demonstrations and awareness that also stimulate competitive input supply chain development and include an exit strategy
Through a facilitative approach increase smallholder farmers' knowledge about the benefits of using high quality inputs;
Coach and mentor agro-input dealers to provide embedded services like spraying, farmer trainings, demonstrations and other new business opportunities;
Collaborate closely with USAID Ag-input and other USAID and Government of Uganda Inputs related programs
Assist in the establishment of linkages with private sector service providers, buyers, input and supply firms
Co-ordinate and manage stakeholders meetings and focus group discussions which include both public and private sector Stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The candidate must possess a University degree in Agriculture-related field.
A post graduate diploma/degree in agribusiness will be an added advantage.
