About the job in Uganda
As a research-based campaigning organization, investigating and documenting human rights issues is fundamental to our advocacy and lobbying work. A campaign oriented approach to your work is essential. About you

You’ll have a background in activism, the social sciences (including law) or journalism with the ability to identify and thoroughly investigate those issues and ensure our voice has authority. You will need proven research and communication skills, impartial political judgement, coupled with strong strategic thought.

Duties:
Will he responsible to the Executive Secrelary for
• Developing and maintaining an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of Ihe Board togelher with IT developmental goals, objectives and operating procedures.
• Coordinating and facilitating consultations wilh stakeholders lo define system requirements for new technologies and implementation.
• Ensuring continuous delivery of IT services through oversighl of service level agreements with end-users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
• Directing development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and continuity plans.
• Reviewing hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursuing master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
• Promoting and overseeing strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including government, vendors and partner organizations.
- Supervising recruitment process, development, retention and organization ot all IT staff in accordance with the Board budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
• Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Secretary.

THE POSITION:
The successful candidate will work closely wilh the Systems Operations Manager and his/her should be able to:
• Provide technical support on a variety of technologies including but not limited to network operating systems, desktop technologies, windows server technologies, be able to administer and install an In-house web application using IIS7, windows services and Microsoft SQL Server. Rack and configure equipment. Maintain network infrastructure with extensive use of monitoring internet, wireless and VPN. WAN and remote access concepts, firewalls and assuciated security.

Server upgrades and infrastructure troubleshooting. Installation and configuration of operating systems and mles.
• Secure systems and networks adhering to company security policy and Industry best practices with multiple layers of authentication and audit.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong working knowledge in areas of server and network hardware diagnostics anil repair.
• Knowledge in network administration – LAN/WAN architecture, routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
• Knowledge of email administration.
• Working knowledge of enterprise storage infrastructure.
• Organized and being detail oriented wilh high initiative.
