Job Title: Credit Control – team leader (2 positions)

Reports To: The Credit Control Supervisor



Job summary

The credit control team leader’s job is to implement and maintain an effective credit control system and minimize credit risk while maintaining an adept level of customer service delivery.

Job description

•    Ensure achievement of monthly debt collection targets.
•    Ensure adequate customer contact is done before account balanes become overdue.
•    Build relationships with internal and external customers.
•    Set and monitor appropriate credit limits in a converged billing environment that minimizes bad debt and misuse of telecommunication services.
•    Motivate team performance, enabling adequate work cover to be provided at all times.
•    Ensure that payments are correctly allocated to the appropriate account and against the appropriate invoice(s).
•    Respond to customer queries within your portfolio of accounts.

Qualifications
•    Degree in accounting or Business Administration.
•    Partial (level 2) profession Accountancy qualification or its equivalent.
•    At least three years’ credit control experience in a large, busy service organization.
•    Must possess excellent computer skills especially in MS Office applications.
•    Excellent communication skills with the ability to be fair but resolute when dealing with customers.

Applicants must also have strong analytical, organizational, planning, co-ordination and proven team leadership skills. He/she should be proactive; self motivated and be able to work under minimum supervision. They should be able to work under pressure and meet stipulated deadline.
