Job Title: Data Clerk

Job Description

The Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) is a national Faith-Based Non-Government Organization. Its current membership comprises of the Roman Catholic Church in Uganda, the Church of Uganda, the Uganda Orthodox Church, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Other religious organizations notably the independent Pentecostal, Evangelical churches and Baha’i faith participate in the implementation of IRCU programs. IRCU’s Vision is ‘A divinely peaceful, united, prosperous Uganda where all people enjoy full health and freedoms for the common good.’

The council implements a range of programs namely HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence prevention, Peace, Justice and Governance. IRCU wishes to recruit competent persons to fill the vacant positions as below. Female qualified candidates are encouraged to apply:

JOB TITLE: Data Clerk

Number of Vacancies: Two (2)

Reports to: M & E Specialist (Data)

Duty Station: Kampala.

Job Purpose: To collect, clean, enter, analyze data and generate reports. The position entails using an

electronic computer database handling an array of program data. The incumbent may be expected to verify

field reports as and when necessary at the

Institutionalized Religious Bodies and Implementing Partners Levels.

Key Result Areas:

Coordinate with the M&E Specialist in the collection of data from Religious Coordinating Bodies and implementing partners and entering it into the database.
 Verify entered data to ensure accuracy and compliance with set standards
 Maintain data integrity, confidentiality and efficient operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
 Build capacity of Implementing Partners/ Institutionalized Religious Bodies to manage their data
 Analyze data and generate reports as and whenever required

Qualifications and Experience

A University degree in Statistics or qualitative economics.
 Knowledge of any computer package

At least 2 years technical experience in the field of HIV/AIDS and/or monitoring and evaluation.

Special Knowledge Required:

Data analysis and report writing skills.
 Computer literacy; knowledge of Microsoft SQL server, Access, and experience in using data entry and analysis software will be an added advantage.
 Knowledge of different database information systems and use of software package for database management is an added advantage.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality
 Ability to work as part of a team
 The ability to multitask and complete projects within a proposed timeframe.
