RESOURCE MOBILISATION MANAGER

This position reports to the Country Director and is a member of the Country Management Team (CMT). The position has overall responsibility to manage the Grants and Sponsorship departments in the country.
 Job Purpose
 One of Plan’s global strategic priorities is to grow and diversify its sources of income, the successful candidate will therefore act as a resource to Plan Uganda and National Offi ces in resource mobilisation, including: resource mobilisation strategy development and planning, take a lead role in the strategic sourcing of funds from various donors like the EC, USAID, AusAID, NORAD, SIDA as well as private donors, facilitating the effective management of acquired resources, ensuring strict compliance to various donor requirements and reporting on respective grants, develop and achieve local fund raising targets, and manage the sponsorship department and its operations in the country, leading to the achievement of the overall sponsorship objectives of Plan Uganda.

Principle accountabilities include:
 • Ensure that Plan Uganda has capacity to attract and manage adequate resources from multiple streams to facilitate the achievement of programmatic goals as stipulated in Country Strategic plan
 • Proactively work with respective National Organisation ( NO) counterparts to identify and win appropriate grant opportunities
 • Oversee and coordinate the development, writing and packaging of successful grant proposals from concept through to award in
 line with donor requirements
 • Monitor grants from the perspective of donor requirements and develop a knowledge bank of donor requirements and systems by donor
 • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local actors, including bilateral, multilateral, and corporate donors and external
 networks.
 • Develop and strengthen areas of local and community based resource mobilisation including strengthening community based structures with youth to feed into the sponsorship programme
 • Strengthen program /sponsorship alignment and ensure the establishment of an effective working linkage with National Organisations

Educational Requirements:

University degree in any development profession; a masters degree will be an added advantage.
 Preferred Experience;
 • At least 3-6 years of professional experience of which at least 4 should have been spent in a managerial position in the development/NGO sector.
 • Demonstrated track record of writing project/program proposals and obtaining grant funding from institutional and other donors.
 • Demonstrated success in directly managing the implementation and reporting requirements of grant-funded projects and programs.
 • Experience in identifying and developing resource mobilisation strategies
 • Experience of working with children and communities and managing child-related projects.
 • Experience in sponsorship management is an advantage
