To support our activities and fulfil this commitment, we are seeking to recruit Ugandan nationals for position of SOCIAL WORKER (1) to join our dynamic, innovative and committed staff team. 
National Contract, Fixed Term with possibility of extension
Based in Oyam.
Description: 

The role
• Reporting to the National Project Manager, you will responsible for the implementation of the project activities in Oyam district with the support of the Nationals Project Manager and senior management.
• You will assist in the identification and smooth co-ordination of project activities relating to child protection, assist in designing the project activities relating to child protection and information management and contribute ideas to project implementation and problem-solving with support of the Project Manager and senior management.
• You will implement all activities relating to the support work with child protection stakeholders / actors ensuring that that they are implemented in a quality and timely manner.
• You will support and strengthen child protection stakeholders / actors capacity and confidence to identify child rights violations and abuse / exploitation cases for effective referral and follow up actions, and documentation.
• You will collect and analyse information relating to child protection issues where appropriate in the Oyam districts and report promptly all appropriate and relevant information to the Project Manager and senior management and relevant external stakeholders for effective referral and follow up actions.
• You will conduct a detailed assessment on current child protection systems - existing structures/data collection tools and information practices including analysis and write up of the findings.
• You will train child protection service providers and actors (legal, medical, and psycho-social) on using and implementing a harmonized system for collecting, managing, and reporting information on cases identified, referred, and followed up on.
• You will carry out mapping of child protection service providers and actors who provide protective services to children at risk of experiencing violence and abuse and strengthening the child protection 'referral pathway' in relation to child protection service providers.
• You will attend and pro-actively participate in regular meetings on child protection at the district and sub-county level representing ASB in a professional manner, and provide accompanying written internal minutes.
• You will liaise and coordinate closely on all matters pertaining to child protection with the support of the Project Manager and senior manager with external partners, government and district authorities, local leaders, and NGOs.
• You will carry out and monitor child protection case management support to vulnerable children, support capacity building development of young people's groups to promote and facilitate T4D and lead positive social change processes and prepare and submit computer generated timely reports to the Project Manager on all project activities.
• You will liase and coordinate closely with the National Project Manager on matters relating to project activities including field work, project progress, statistics, and protection issues, participate in timely team meetings with the Project Manager but without the presence of the Programme Manager and provide timely updates accordingly, perform and respond appropriately to other tasks as required by the Project Manager and senior management and participate in training sessions as and when appropriate.
Requirements: 

The Person:
• You will have a professional qualification in Social Studies or relevant discipline with a proven substantial Child protection matters.
• You will be able to plan and manage a complex and busy workload. Proven professional experience or technical background in Child protection and working experience with Child protection programmes are required. 
• At least 2 years experience in similar programming required.
• You will have excellent documentation and recording skills including the use of MS Office, ability and commitment to work with protection service providers and community members in a sensitive, non-judgemental and objective manner, combined with ability to apply experimental learning.
• You will have ability to work as a part of a diverse team irrespective of ethnicity, gender or age and adhere to the ethos and values of the project.
• You need commitment to travel and work in remote areas. Fluency in English and Lango required.
• Experience working with an international NGO preferred.
• Motorcycle license is a must.
