About this Job:
RESPOND is part of the USAID funded Emerging Pandemic Threats Program and is designed to identify and minimize the impact of newly emergent diseases of animal origin that threaten human health. The project will build the capacity of national animal and public health institutions in five designated “hot spot” regions in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. With a project-wide office headquartered in the USA, RESPOND has regional offices in Kinshasa, Kampala, and Bangkok. RESPOND seeks to recruit Program Manager for its East Congo Basin office based in Kampala.

Position purpose: Support the Technical Lead in the planning, implementation, project coordination, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of East Congo programmes as well as ensure smooth and efficient operations for attainment of quality results.

Role and Responsibilities:

1.   Work with the Technical lead to plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, and implement regional and country level programs and activities.

2.   Coordinate project implementation, ensuring that all administrative, financial, and human resource needs for program activities are met

3.   Participate in monitoring, evaluation and documentation of regional and country level activities.

4.   Participate in the development, production and dissemination of program documents, tools and activity/success stories

5.   Support the preparation of annual and operational work plans as well as concepts and proposals

6.   Prepare reports on program activities in line with reporting timelines

7.    Participate in the development of Terms of Reference, contracts or any other obligation instrument for country, regional and organizational partners

Requirement:
Required Qualifications:

1.  Minimum of University degree in a related discipline preferred

2.   5+ years of professional experience program management

3.   Direct donor implementation management and/or a veterinary or public health background

Preferred.

4.   Ability to work in a team environment

5.   Strong English language skills (written and spoken), will be required to write activity related reports
