Kampala Area Federation of Communities (KAFOC) is a registered Non Governmental Umbrella Organization whose affiliates are registered Community Based Organizations that include Nakulabye Family Helper Project (Nakulabye Community) in Kampala District – Rubaga Division; Mbuya and Bbiina Family Helper Projects (Communities) in Kampala District -Nakawa Division and Kireka Family Helper Project (Kireka Community) in Wakiso District – Kira Sub County. Through its affiliates KAFOC’s mission is to work with Children, their Families and Commui ities to fight Child poverty in all its manifestations including deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability. Kampala Area Federation of Communities (KAFOC) main funder is ChildFund International – Uganda. Kampala Area Federation of Communities invites applications from suitable and qualified Ugandans to fill the following exciting vacant positions at its secretariat and Community Offices.

 Program Officer 12 positions

Accountability/Reporting: The position holder will report to the Area Manager (Technical Supervisory responsibility) with a dotted line to the Federation Chairman (Community Administration Responsibility)

Location; KAFOC secretariat Office with frequent work movement to the Communities above.

Key Result Areas;

1.    Play a leading and participatory role in the development, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Area Strategic Plan

2.    Provide technical assistance to Federation structures and staffs in Program planning, implementation and management.

3.    Capacity building of communities to be able to participate in program implementation, monitoring and evaluation…………..

4.    Develop V strong children* and youth agency at the community Level.

5.    Training & Development

6.    Resource Mobilization

7.    Representation, Networking, and Advocacy

8.    Process Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation

9.    Observe Sponsor Relations standards in program delivery and Ensure integration of Child protection issues in the Sectoral project plans, and implementation.

10.    Staff and Community federation structure management and appraisal.

Job requirement:

•    Minimum of a Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, Community Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration, Adult and Community Education; with computer literacy.

•    A postgraduate Diploma/ experience in 3 years work experience in a Community development field with Non Governmental and or Community Based Organizations.

•    Demonstrable . skills in Program management including Monitoring and evaluation.

•    Demonstrable skills and abilities in organizing and facilitating community groups.

•    Demonstrable experience in Leadership, Interpersonal relations and team building.

•    Knowledge and skills in budgeting, budget management, financial / program reporting and accountability.

•    Innovativeness, knowledge and skills in Urban / peri urban programming, informal sector development/support.

•    Knowledge and skills in Village Savings and Loans Associations’ methodology application.

•    Ability to practically mentor, coach and offer technical assistance / support to line reports, community management structures and program implementation leadership

•    Proven knowledge of participatory _ approaches /_methodologies.application in community development.

•    Proven knowledge and skills in Child participation / authentic children engagement.

•    Ability to work for loog hours in a multi tasked environment.

•    Ability and willingness to be accountable to the Community people and the Children.

•    Ability to create & work through Networks.

•    Proven skills in local resources mobilization

•    Demonstrable experience in fundraising through proposal writing.
