Project Officer Jobs at PAG SDS in Uganda


Job Title: Project Officer (4 positions)

Pentecostal Assemblies of God-Uganda Social Development Services (PAG SDS) works in partnership with Emergency Relief and Development Overseas and the Canadian Food Grains Bank to address livelihood and socio-economic issues in the community. This partnership focuses on engaging the communities in Participatory Learning Processes to identify local and sustainable solutions to underlying causes of food insecurity. PAG SDS has designed a program for “Integrated Climate Change and Food Security Initiatives in Karamoja”. The community based learning will involve climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and management (DRR and DRM). The Key Result Areas in this program will be increased food availability in target households and increased resilience to climate change disasters. PAG social development programs target beneficiaries irrespective of their political, religious or other affiliations. For more information, visit www.pag-uganda.org. Reporting to: Program Manager for Karamoja Region Duty station: Moroto
Roles and responsibilities:
Duties of the Project Officers, unless defined within PAG policy framework and without precluding such other duties as may from time to time be assigned to by a Superior Officer, shall include:
Ensuring that accurate baseline data for the project is collected
Facilitating the process of identifying target communities and households
Preparing the target communities for project implementation
Coordinating with all agencies implementing projects in the target communities and get update information on their plans and on-going projects
Facijitating delivery of all project inputs to the target beneficiaries
Conducting all the community skills development meetings planned in this project
Facilitating implementation of all other field based activities planned in this project
Participating in the regular M&E reviews of this project and make contribution in redesigning of strategies when need arises
Requirement:
Minimum of Diploma in Agriculture from recognized institution.
1 year working experience in rural setting.
IT skills: ability to use computer efficiently and confidently
Practicing Christian with upright Christian values
Willing to work in a rural setting
Good communication skills
Ability to work under minimum supervision and having sense of responsibility
Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage
