Job Title: Senior Entomologist
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill vacant posts that exist in Sheema District Local government, Sheema and Bugongi Town councils.
Post: Senior Entomologist (1 post)
Salary Scale: U3
Reports to: Principal Entomologist
Age: 25 & above
Terms of appointment: Permanent and pensionable.
Duties
Controlling tsetse and other pests using environmentally friendly Techniques;
Organizing farmers’ training in the control of both ticks and tsetse dies;
Carrying out extension wok in apiary (beekeeping) and sericulture;
Coordinating dissemination of information through the extension workers;
Producing work plans and budgets for training programmes and experiments; and
Writing reports on incidents of pests and game in the district.
Requirement:
An Honours Bachelors Degree in Science with a bias in Entomology and Parasitology from a recognized University/Institution and
Three (3) years working experience in extension services at a level or entomologist or related work in government or a reputable Organization.
