TechnoServe is implementing the Women Mean Business Phase II – Implementation & Evaluation Program – in Uganda which shall be launched in February 2012. The three-year program will support 750 women-owned small businesses through skills trainings, coaching & mentoring, to increase their revenues & profits and enhance their participation in the economy.

JUNIOR BUSINESS ADVISERS (2POSITIONS)
Provide support to small business/entrepreneurship development activities for the Women Mean Business Phase II – Monitoring & Implementation (WMB) project in Uganda. The Junior Business Advisor will work closely with the Business Advisor (BA), Senior Business Manager (SBM) and clients as well as respective country and regional management. S/he will be responsible for timely and effective implementation of project activities and achievement of a portion of the project’s goal to train 750 women entrepreneurs to build their business skills and increase their revenues and profits. S/he will be responsible for client support, on site visits and data collection.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and recruit qualified women SMEs for the program;
Make regular client visits to business premises to assess business/client challenges, needs assessments and progress;
Provide post-training support to clients and enable adoption of the new practices from the trainings;
Monthly data collection and tracking business performance (core indicators) and success stories;
Regular reporting on client progress during the term of the program;
Support BA and program team in program activities as required;
REQUIREMENTS

Degree qualifications in business-related studies required;
Strong business management and financial analysis skills;
Minimum of one year field and technical experience with business development/entrepreneurship in Uganda is required;
Experience working with business women (SMEs) preferred;
Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills a must;
Ability to develop well-written, cohesive analyses and reports;
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships;
Ability to generate innovative solutions in work situations;
Fluency in English required;
REPORTS TO: Senior Business Manager.
