Qualifications



An Honours Degree in Development studies, Arts, Social Sciences, Social work and Social Administration and Management Science from a recognised University or institution.



Duties of the post



Planning and budgeting for development programmes at the community level;

Supervising staff involved in uplifting the social and economic welfare of local communities;

Organizing local communities to effectively participate in development initiatives;

Sensitizing communities on gender issues, social rights, roles and obligation;

Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on community development programmes and project;

Promoting the equal participation of all communities in development programmes;

Promoting the creation and growth of functional groups for the improved welfare of the population;

Training communities in literacy programmes and income generating activities;

Providing advise on the effective mobilization of the community for development; and

Sensitizing communities to adhere to existing legislation on gender and child rights.

Applications must be submitted in triplicate on PSC Form No.3 (Revised 2008) to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 34 Sironko to be received not later than 16th March 2012.
 Application Forms can be obtained from Public Service Commission’s office at Farmers House – Kampala or any District Service Commission. Applications should bear three (3) passport size photos and certified photocopies of supporting documents with daytime contact telephone.
