EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
Background
Winrock International is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity and sustain natural resources. Winrock has over 170 projects underway in sixty-five countries including the United States. In Uganda, Winrock is currently working in four Northern Uganda Districts of Gulu, Amuru, Oyam, Kitgum, Nwoya and Lamwo. Due to growth and turnover we are taking applications for Drivers.
Effective with the release of this advert, Winrock will seek to recruit additional personnel (Ugandan Nationals) to fill the vacant positions listed below to support the implementation of the Northern Uganda Development of Enhanced Local Governance, Infrastructure and Livelihoods (NUDEIL) Program in the new Districts.
Job Title : Driver, Ref No. # 46
Reporting to : Logistics Officer
Duration of Contract : 9 months
Location : Project Wide
Number of Positions : Up to 10
Main duties & responsibilities:
To drive in a safe manner complying with all Winrock regulations and obeying all national road traffic and safety rules,
Carry out daily and weekly checks on vehicle to ascertain current mechanical condition of the Vehicle.
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in roadworthy condition.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess at least Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.
At least 3 years of successful experience in working with a USAID Funded Project or an International NGO as a driver.
Valid drivers’ license (Class B & DL), knowledge of driving 4WD vehicles is desirable.
Ability to ride a Motorcycle is a MUST.
Basic knowledge in Auto mechanics and Diesel engine.
Must have operating knowledge of petrol Gensets.
Must be of high degree of discipline and integrity.
