About this Job:
Job purpose:
To plan, execute, and finalize projects for a particular projects portfolio according to strict deadlines and within budget in order to deliver projects according to plan
Key responsibilities:
• Provide direction and leadership to the project portfolio implementation team.
• Develop and execute an implementation plan for all projects in the portfolio
• Ensure the Capital Expenditure portfolio programme is completed
environmental and technical standards.
• Ensure maximized capitalization of projects through timely closing out of projects after physical completion.
• Report implementation progress and identify critical issues for
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Program Manager-Capex from time to time.
• Ensure development, skills transfer and training of project
engineers to fully undertake the professional scoping and design of portfolio projects. Maximum allowable scoping deviation for each project is 5%
• Ensure development, skills transfer and training of Clerks of Works to fulfill their required tasks professionally.
• Ensure professional and timely projects implementation by the projects team with timely and relevant reports to monitor progress
• Ensure good and relevant recordkeeping of project documentation
• Ensure professional contract management of each project.
Requirement:
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
• A postgraduate qualification in Business or Management will be an advantage
• International qualification as a project Manager, Prince 2, PMI
• Proven experience as a project manager
• At least five (5) years post qualification in a leadership role
