MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Management Option) or Social Sciences or Arts or Urban Planning or Management from a recognized University.
Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Public Administration or Local Governance or Financial Management or any related disciplines from a recognized University/Institution will be an added advantage.
Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years working experience gained at the level of Urban Officer in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.

He/she must be acquainted with Uganda’s Local Government operations and willing to travel across the country.
Applicants should have well developed skills in inspection, monitoring, communication, analytical, policy development, financial management, interpersonal and planning skills and should be well versed with administration, financial management and project appraisal process with a high moral character and proven integrity.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Inspector (Urban) for performing the following duties:
? Under taking analytical research and investigating key challenges in the urban sector and generating data to inform policy development and review planning and decision making.
? Carrying out urban development checklist and ensuring compliance with urban development policies, regulations and standards.
? Participating in urban policies, plans standards during review process.
? Monitoring and evaluating urban development and growth processes in conjunction with the local government staff for planning and decision making.
? Participating in urban poverty alleviation and actions.
? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
