About this Job:
Dairy Development Authority (DDA) is a Semi- Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). It is established under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Its Mission is “To provide dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure increased production and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy industry sector; contribute to economic development and improved nutritional standards in Uganda”.
In order to effectively fulfill its mandate, the Authority would like to fill the under listed positions:
Job Title: Accountant
Reports to: Principal Accountant Objective of the Job
Assist the principal accountant in disbursing funds, recording transactions and preparation of financial reports. Key Functions
1. Recording of transactions, cash management, banking, inventory, receivables and payables.
2. Daily accurate and complete recording of financial transactions (cash and bank) using Navision accounting software.
3. Prepare payments made to respective stake holders.
4. Manage the office petty cash.
5. Preparation of monthly cash count and bank reconciliation statements.
6. Responsible for proper archiving of all financial documents.
7. Preparation and dispatch of customer invoices and statements.
8. Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual debtor’s/ creditors reports.
9. Any other duties assigned by the Principal Accountant.
Requirement:
Qualifications and Experience
1. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/ Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration majoring in Accounting.
2. Minimum working experience of 1 year in a similar role.
3. Experience of working with accounting packages will be an added advantage.
4. High level of accuracy. :
5. Able to cope with deadlines and multi-task.
6. Should be a good team player.
