Job Title: Accounts Assistant
About this Job:
The National Council for Higher Education was established under “The Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001″ for (a) regulating and guiding the establishment and management of Institutions of higher learning and (b) regulating the quality of higher education, equating of qualifications and for advising government on higher education issues.
The following positions are available at the National Council for Higher Education. All the positions are for a three-year contract, renewal on good performance and on mutual agreement.
Position 1: Accounts Assistant (1 post)
Duties
(i) Reports to Finance Officer;
(ii) Receive and process expense forms and requests for
payment;
(iii) Prepare cheques for payment;
(iv) Prepare staff monthly payrolls
(v) Prepare bank reconciliation statements;
(vi) Maintain the fixed assets register and inventory reconciliations;
(vii) Ensure proper arrangement of files and documents;
(vii) Carry out any other tasks assigned by management;
(viii) Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirement:
Qualifications
(i) A Bachelors degree in Commerce or Business Administration (accounting option);
(ii) Partial professional qualification in CPA or ACCA;
(iii) At least three years experience in a similar role;
(iv) Excellent computer skills;
(v) Self-motivation and good organizational skills.
