Security Manager Job Vacancy at National Social Security Fund (NSSF)


Job Title: Security Manager


Job Description

National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is positioning itself to be the Social Security Provider of Choice in Uganda. The Fund seeks to recruit persons with proven competencies, skills and innovativeness to fill the following positions within the Fund.

JOB TITLE:  SECURITY MANAGER
REPORTS TO:  HEAD OF ADMINISTRATION

MAIN PURPOSE:

Responsible for overall security of Fund assets

excluding IT security.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES OF THE JOB:

1)    Manage and provide specialized security support for the Fund’s geographical locations.

2)    Supervise outsourced security firms.

3)    Carry out security risk audits and assessments and advise management on improvement.

4)    Liaise with external-security agencies and safety service providers on matters of security.

5)    Train and sensitize staff on security matters, review/draft security policies of the Fund.

6)    Advise on appropriate building security systems.

7)    Coordinate safety activities within the Fund.

8)    Conduct investigations all cases of Fraud and other security related breaches.

9)    Budget and monitor expenses for the section.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

•    University Degree from a recognized institution.

EXPERIENCE:

•    Military / Police training background is mandatory

•    3-5 years of security experience within the military; national or international police, or at a supervisory level within the security industry or within a large organization.

•    Knowledge and awareness of the relevant

legislative environment and industry practices. Information intelligence; ability to gather information from a variety of sources.

Knowledge in the use and maintenance of standard security and communications equipment; Knowledge and experience of identifying and assessing security risks.
OTHER COMPETENCIES:

•    Analytical skills with attention to detail

•    Physically fit, flexible and willingness to work for long and odd hours.

•    Problem solving

•    Conflict resolution

•    Communication and interpersonal skills

•    Able to speak two other transactional languages preferably Swahili, Luganda etc in addition to English.
