Job Title: PROGRAMME OFFICER
   

THETA is a registered Ugandan non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the health of Ugandans by promoting collaboration between the Traditional and Biomedical Health Systems. THETA’s focus is to build and support long term in-depth relationships between traditional and formal health care systems and operates closely with the district leadership to implements activities through the existing community structures and net works. POSITION: PROGRAMME OFFICER (1 post)
Reports to:Programme Manager
Major duties and responsibilities:
Mobilize communities for the establishment of a community based collaborative activities and support group leadership in the established THETA support groups
To establish and support community structures which include District based Trainers, Community support Team biomedical health workers and Community lay persons.
Responsible for organizing and conducting HIV/AIDS trainings for district and community stakeholders
Participate in development of training materials, curriculum development and handbooks
Generate reports on the Programs progress on a quarterly, Bi annual and annual basis.
Participate in Organizational capacity development activities such as assessments, strategic planning development and resource mobilization for the organization.
Create functional linkages between THETA district and community activities and implementing partners.
Conduct periodic assessments and follow up for the community activities
Ensure timely planning, budgeting, and implementation of all THETA activities.
Requirement:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Population/Reproductive Health or other Human health related Studies
Minimum Experience:
At least 2 years working experience in project implementation in HIV/AIDS related programme activities. Experience in district based health Programming desirable.
Required skills
Excellent report writing skills, Proven Community HIV programming experience, data analysis skills, team building
