JOB DESCRIPTION
BANKING OPERATIONS OFFICER

Role Description
Support general banking operations to ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures and control operational lapses.

Reporting Responsibilities: Banking Operations Supervisor

Role Objectives
1. Support branch operations and ensure due diligence in operational procedures, thereby reducing exceptions in routine Branch Audit examinations.
2. Enhance Customer data confidentiality through centralized coordination of edit rights and modifications
3. Manage the centralized operations processing function to ensure effective turnaround, quality of loan documentation, and control over loan creation
4. Identify operational improvement opportunities through branch interactions and Feedbacks

Responsibilities
Focus Areas Key Functions:
Centralized Operations
Handle Centralized operations functions and to enhance productivity of business teams and ensure adherence to policies:
Loan processing:
- Independent review of loan applications from branches to ensure adherence to stipulated policies and procedures
- Maintain a record of loan documentation and liaise with branches on exceptions
- Process/create/pay-off loan requests from branches in line with pre-defined approvals
Remote account opening:
- Handle account opening requests for POS Centres and branches in line with authorized system profiles
 Account data clean up and system updates
- Handle periodic review of account/loan details on the banking application and other regulatory systems e.g. Credit Reference bureau and work with branches to update the system as required

Front Office Support
Handle all User support requests from branches on operational issues by promptly following up on concerned departments for processing/resolution

MIS Reporting
Generate reports from branch interactions for management information which will be used to raise the standard of service and decision making.
Other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Department



Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional qualifications will be an added advantage
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in financial/banking sector with a minimum of 1 years as an Operations/Finance/Loans Officer
