Rift Valley Railways (RVR) is a Private Logistics Organization with operations in East Africa. RVR provides both Rail and Marine services for the transportation of imports and export cargo. This leading Logistics Organization is looking for qualified, dedicated, self-motivated individuals to join the Mechanical Engineering Department team. Electrician (2 positions based at Nalukolongo Railway Workshop)
Purpose: To ensure effective maintenance and repairs of Rolling Stock, plant and equipment in the Company.
Reporting to the Supervisor Electrical, you shall have the following key responsibilities;
Perform electrical services and repairs according to set standards and procedures.
Participate in Locomotive and Plant electrical maintenance programs.
Support in Planning of Locomotive and Plant electrical maintenance i.e. service, repairs and overhauls.
Rectify electrical failures and carry out approved alterations to address the failures.
Participate in the testing of locomotives before release.
Observe SHEQ measures and regulations in the workshops
Assist in the preparation of production reports Any other similar duties that may be assigned “to you from time to time by your Supervisor
Requirement:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
3 years experience in maintenance and repair of Heavy diesel powered equipment and workshop plant Management and communication skills Computer literacy
30 years and below.
