Job Title: APPRENTICESHIPS IN MILLWRIGHT/INSTRUMENTATION & MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TRADES

Job Description

Nile Breweries Limited, a leading beverage company in Uganda, a subsidiary of SABMiller, and also recognized as the Best Employer 2004, 2005 and 2009–the second largest brewing group in the world seeks to give a two year training opportunity to successful candidates and enable them gain Technical knowledge and experience as artisans in the Engineering trade as well as have a “feel” of the entire Brewery Processes.
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:
1. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
• Compliance with all safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
2. To be trained, gain knowledge and experience in
• Locating plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation/ systems
• Maintenance planning, scheduling and execution
• Asset Management business process and benefits
• The Different Maintenance philosophies and their advantages
• The development of a Schedule (MSG3) for a piece of equipment in the Brewery
• Problem solving using the 5WHYs, FFAs and DMAIC, & Gap Closure process.
• Engineering Materials used in Brewing Industry
• Process Control and Instrumentation used in the Brewery Process
• The Utilities Supply and Management with Key Control Points(KPIs)
• Continuously improve (optimize) plant, process equipment and systems
• Principles of Performance Management and team work.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE IN THIS POSITION ARE:
• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, instrumentation and Electronic/Physics.
• Just completed College studies and not in employment
• Good vision and innovativeness.
• Sound Engineering aptitude
• Self-motivated
• Ability to learn
• Problem solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good communication Skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in teams
• Flexible, Open and honest
