Job Title: Principal Research & Evaluation Officer.

   
The National Curriculum Development Centre is a corporate body under the Ministry of Education and Sports. It is responsible for inter-alia development of curricula and related materials for various level of education (i.e. Pre- Primary, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary), organizing capacity building courses for stakeholders on curricula and matters related to curriculum.
Research and Evaluation Department
Title: Principal Research & Evaluation Officer.
Responsible to: Head of Department, Research and Evaluation
Main purpose of the job: Conducting research and evaluation studies on curricula and educational programmes
Duties and responsibilities:
Evaluating the effectiveness of the instructional methods and techniques used in schools.
Working with subject specialists in evaluating curricula in use.
Training panel members in research methods and techniques.
Analysing data and producing research reports for use in curriculum planning and management.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department
Requirement:
Age: 30- 45 years Scale: CD 4 A
Masters degree in Statistics or Social Research related disciplines.
A PhD in a related field is a prerequisite
He/she must have proven academic skills in social trends demographic trends, quantitative and qualitative research methods and consultation methods.
Strong social research and numerical skills and a determination to explore issues thoroughly.
Must be able to pay meticulous attention to detail and have strong analytical skills
Ability to work well in a team in a professional manner and with professional attitude.
Experience: A minimum of five years working experience in research related environment
