Job Title: MECHANIST
Reports:

Factory Manager
Job Specification:
1. Maintenance and repair of plant and machinery.
2. Fabrication of spare parts for machines.
3. Overseeing the performance of machines during production.

Person Specification:
Must be in possession of:
1. A diploma in Mechanical Angering
2. Working experience of at least two (2) years in related field.
3. Additional training in mechanical engineering or handling of workshop machines will be an added advantage.

Job Title: QUALITY MANAGER

Reports:
Managing Director

Job Specification:
1. Daily checking of the quality of products produced to ensure conformance with the set standards.
2. Checking raw materials and products in the production process to ensure conformance with set parameters.
3. Ensure that all equipments/instruments for use in the factory are calibrated in accordance to the set dates.
4. Monitor, indentify and analyze course of non-conformities and recommend preventive and corrective action in the production processes of the company.
5. Preparation and provision of all data documentation and reports related to the above functions.

Person Specification:
1. A degree in Industrial Ceramic or Chemical Engineering.
2. Working experience of at least three (30 years in related field in clay processing industry.
3. Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job Title: INDUSTRIAL CERAMIST
Reports: Factory Manager

Job Specification:
1 Ensure the correct clay mix/kaolin is available for production.
2 Supervising product molding
3 Supervising drying of products
4 Supervising baking of clay products.
5 Preparation and provision of all data documentation and reports related to the above functions.
6 Supervision of all personnel under these sections.

Person Specification:
1. A diploma in Industrial Ceramics.
2. Working experience of at least three (3) years in related field in clay processing industry.
3. Managing and Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job Title: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Reports:
Managing Director

Job Specification:
1. To initiate product development strategies to meet the demands of customers.
2. To develop and initiate application tests for the finished products to ensure that they meet the required standards.
3. To improve on already existing products.
4. Research on clay products (raw materials, WIP AND FP) and come up with new products design and tests.

Person Specification:
1. A degree in Chemical Engineering or Ceramics.
2. Working experience of at least four (4) years of which at least two (2) was in manufacturing Company.
3. Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job Title: HUMAN RESOURCE MANGER:

Reports:
Managing Director.
It is a 3( three) years renewable contractual position.

Main purpose of the job:
To lead and manage the Human Resource function of Uganda Clays Ltd and to provide advisory role and support to the Company in relation to all Human Resource matters.

The Human Resource Manger’s main duties and responsibilities will include:

1. To develop and implement Human resource strategies in the areas of human resource planning, training and development, staff welfare, performance and reward management.
2. To formulate, review and implement coherent human resource and administrative policies, systems, plans and procedures.
3. To ensure a frame work for maintaining safe healthy working environment.
4. To participate in developing the Organizations’ strategy and annual plans.
5. Responsible for storage of human resource records for purpose of facilitating performance appraisal, evaluation, future planning and decision making.
6. To develop and maintain machinery for consultation with the trade union representatives.
7. To develop training programs and budgets.
8. To ensure that compensation structure balance out employee expectations and the financial goals of the organization.
9. To ensure that job descriptions for all posts are updated.
10. Linking effective talent management strategy to organizational succession planning framework.
11. Determining the best method to foster communication and motivate employees in the company.

Person Specification:
1. Bachelors’ degree in social Science in the related field.
2. Post graduate diploma in human resource management is an added advantage.
3. Should be possessing computer skills
4. Professional membership to Human Resource Management body is an added advantage.
5. Should have an eight (8) years experience in human Resource Management; three (3) of which should be in a managerial position.
