World Vision Uganda is a Christian Relief, Development and Advocacy Non-Government Organization dedicated to working with children, families and com­munities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work in over 40 districts in Uganda. World Vision is a child-focused organization and upholds the rights and well-being of children. Our recruitment and selection procedures include background checking for any kind of injustice against children including child abuse offences.
We are seeking a highly qualified, motivated and results oriented leaders/influencers in their respective fields to serve as Board members on a voluntary basis.
Areas of Expertise:
Private Sector Experience (Corporate/Business)
Fundraising (Marketing resource mobilization)
Advocacy and policy influence
Corporate Governance
Legal
Requirement:
English language fluency (written and verbal)
Good communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills
A mature and committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
Willing and able to devote significant time during each calendar year to Board and committee service on a voluntary basis.
Strategic Leadership
Fundraising knowledge
Good inter-personal skills
Analytical and critical thinking with a sound understanding of the prevailing social, political and economic situation in Uganda
Creative/lateral thinking.
Others:
A heart for the poor and committed to the ministry of World Vision.
Not an employee of World Vision or a close family member of a WV Uganda employee, not a former National Director of WV Uganda , who served in that capacity during the previous three years.
High Moral Character and proven integrity.
Applicants should not be below 30 years and above 65 years of age.
Willing to subscribe and adhere to the Vision, Mission Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith, Covenant of Partnership and other applicable World Vision International Board-approved policies.
