Job Title: Clinic Assistant/Cleaner
Reports to: Administrator
Main Purposes of Post
The Clinic Assistant/Cleaner’s main duty will be to ensure the clinic is clean, tidy and welcoming to the standards required. Your role will be vital, in ensuring that hygiene and infection control are of the highest importance. You will also be expected to provide an adequate supply of clean linen and uniforms and you will be involved in the sterilisation of instruments. You will assist in transporting specimens, requests and supplies to the correct departments. You will be part of our dedicated team and willing to perform tasks as necessary in a helpful and efficient manner, showing care to your work and attention to detail.
Person specification
The Clinic Assistant/Cleaner should have, or be able to demonstrate:
o A clean and smart appearance, ideally with experience of working in the medical environment.
o An understanding of the importance of speed and efficiency.
o Ability to communicate with the patients, visitors, other staff in a personable and respectful manner
o Helpfulness, kindness and friendliness.
o Honest and integrity
Skills and Personal Requirements
o Hard working and physically fit
o Capable of building up positive relationships with other staff particularly the Nursing staff
o Able to take and understand instructions
o Team player.
o Integrity.
o Ability to cope under pressure
Duties and Responsibilities
o Cleaning, sterilisation and laundry services
o Maintain all areas to look clean, welcoming and neat at all times.
o Remove rubbish
o Order relevant cleaning supplies through the Chief Operating Officer
o Be involved in infection control and cleaning of equipment.
o Uphold and promote the Healthcare Centre’s mission, vision and values.
o You will at times be requested to assist with direct patient care
o Perform other appropriate duties as may be allocated to you.
