International Medical Group (IMG) constitutes an NGO, International Medical Foundation (IMF), a hospital, International Hospital Kampala (IHK), a health management organization (IAA) with a network of clinics upcountry and in Kampala. IMG is committed to making a difference to healthcare in Uganda through education, innovation, applied research and community outreaches.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Human Resources function

Authorize annual (or other) leave for the team including the cover for those on leave.
Conduct orientation for all new dispensing staff according to a predetermined program.

2. Performance Management for the dispensing team

Evaluate KPIs for dispensing staff and call them to account based on their performance.
Appraise dispensing staff on agreed KPIs i.e. Dispensing practices, Good Stock management, Professionalism and Cost effective Pharmaceutical Care
Ensure staff adherence to agreed SOPs in line with ISO/QA recommendations

3. Drug supply chain oversight and setting of controls

Orders- Vet IMC drug orders before forwarding them to IMG Pharmaceuticals.
Ensure IMG Pharmaceuticals supplies the amounts as requested and planned for.
Manage MOH drug supplies in the IMCs (orders, documentation, accountability)
Minimize wastage through control of expiry
Establish and maintain controls to minimize pilfering.
Ensure adherence to drug procurement guidelines and SOPs
Demonstrate adherence to the IMG formulary
Distribute drugs to the centers against pre-determined stock levels and practices.
Inspect drugs for near expiry and expired items.
Reporting on incidents and stock value at the different units.

4. Reporting

Monthly reports to the pharmacist
Stock value at the different units
Incident reports

5. Meetings

Attend Pharmacy department meetings and IMC Management meetings.

6. Training

Train staff on key department processes i.e. safe dispensing, Good stock management, interpersonal skills and minimizing waste.
Maintain up to date set of reference books i.e. BNF.

7. Communication

To and from the dispensaries with purpose of implementation of IMG strategies
Act as a contact person for dispensing staff in the IMC dispensaries.

8. Conduct regular audits of the IMC dispensary

Dispensing and other pharmacy records like incident books
Stock on the shelves and Stock management records e.g. orders, receipt reconciliation, usage reports

9. Client relations
Promote both internal and external client satisfaction by providing regular updates on pharmacy systems, training and feedback.

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Basic requirements
1. Diploma in Comprehensive Registered Nursing
2. Nursing council Registration
3. 2 years experience in a clinical management role
4. Basic Computer knowledge
5. Proactive, problem solving and professional
6. Ability to work under minimal supervision
7. Ability to make critical decisions and maintain a sense of leadership within the team
